TROJAN GOLFERS TRIUMP OVER HAMPTON ROADS ACADEMY ENDING REGULAR SEASON

An update from Varsity Golf Coach Rick Rickard:
In the final regular season match of 2011 and Senior day for Nick Graziano ,  the Trojans of Walsingham Academy defeated the Navigators of Hampton Roads Academy 306- 337.

The Trojans were led by Emily Nolans 75, Trevor Caccetta 76, Nick Graziano 77 , Brian Werszner 78 and Sean Celli with a 92. Emily Nolan recieving medalist honors with her solid round of  3 over 75. The match was played at Kiskiack G.C. Par 72 ,  6400 yard layout.

The 4 leading scorers for the Trojans and best rounds of the year and are in preparation for the TCIS Tournament which begins May 16th and 18th at Bide-a-Wee G.C. in Portsmouth.

The Navigators were led by Kyle Imhof with an  8 over par 80.

VARSITY GOLF WINS AGAIN

The Varsity Golf team at Walsingham Academy continued its' winning ways by defeating the Bulldogs of Norfolk Academy 296-300.  After 16 holes, play was suspended due to darkness.

WALSINGHAM'S GOLF TEAM WINS BY 33 STROKES OVER BISHOP SULLIVAN

From WALSINGHAM Varsity Golf Coach Rick Rickard: 

Walsingham Academy's Golf team played Bishop Sullivan in a conference away match at Va. Beach National G.C. on April 6th. Walsingham came home with the victory having bested the Crusaders by 33 strokes.

MIDDLE SCHOOL LAX WINS 8-4 OVER NSA FRIDAY

Latest positng from Coach Chris Ciccone:

MS lax beat NSA 8-4 on Friday afternoon.  Standout performances:  Chris Ciccone and Brett Smith (3 goals and 2 assists each), Michael Holder and Kyle Pieri (1 goal apiece), Jordan Mock (14 Ground balls and 1 assist) Thomas Radke (10 ground balls and 1 assist).
Games next week in Richmond at Shock on Monday and Midlothian Middle on Friday.
Current record 4-0

...definitely great team effort...a strong defense kept the ball away from WA's goal giving the offense multiple scoring opportunies which they clearly capitalized on! Way to go, WA!

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL LAX CONTINUES WINNING STREAK!

FROM COACH CICCONE:

Another first--first victory vs Cape Henry on the lacrosse field in school's history.  Won 7-0.  Standout performances:  Chris Ciccone 3 goals, 1 assist, Brett Smith and Jordan Mock 1 goal, 1 asst each, Kyle Pieri and Michael Holder 1 goal each.  Defense unit as a whole gave up only 5 shots.  next game at NSA on Thursday, March 31.  Record 3-0

MIDDLE SCHOOL LAX CRUSHES HOMETOWN WARRIORS

Middle School LACROSSE won 7-1 vs Williamsburg Blue Warriors March 17.  Excellent defense held off the Williamsburg Warriors and kept them to just one goal.  The Trojans dominated the game with Michael Holder winning 9 of 10 face-offs.  Chris Ciccone scored 3 goals,  Brett Smith 2 goals, and Jordan Mock and Michael Holder scored a goal a piece.  Mock, Holder, Ciccone and Smith also had assists.

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS LAX WINS at HOME!

Middle School BOYS LACROSSE won at home on Thursday 7-1 --dominating the Williamsburg blue Warriors.  

Returning players Chris Ciccone (3 goals, 1 asst), Brett Smith (2 goals, 2 assists), Jordan Mock (1 goal, 3 assists), and Michael Holder (1 goal) showed their experience and strength as they over-powered their opponents!

Walsingham  won 9 of 10 faceoffs --helping to give the MIDDLE SCHOOL LAX team their first win of the season!

WALSINGHAM vs NORFOLK CHRISTIAN 1/28--GET YOUR TICKETS TO THE BIG GAME!

Our Walsingham Academy Varsity Boys’ Basketball team will face Norfolk Christian on Friday, January 28 at 7pm in Chismer Athletic Complex.

The Norfolk Christian Ambassadors are the defending Virginia State Division II Champions and feature James McAdoo, ranked by ESPN as the #5 high school basketball player in the country.

 What a contest this will be!

The Booster Club would like to offer you an exclusive chance to get your tickets to this event before they go on sale to the general public. If you are a member at the Centurion, General, Senator or Trojan Club Levels* you may pick up your free tickets at the Spirit Store in Chismer on Friday, January 14 from 12 noon to 4pm OR on Wednesday, January 19 from 8am to 12 noon. If you are a member of the Booster Club, but need to purchase additional admissions, you can buy your tickets at the Spirit Store during those times as well.If you are not a member of the Booster Club and would like to join to take advantage of this pre-sale opportunity, membership applications will be accepted at the Spirit Store during ticket purchase times.

  Reservations can be made between Wednesday, January 19 and Friday, January 21 -- each Lower School student must reserve a ticket through Mrs. Suzy Fitzpatrick in the Lower School office, and Upper School students must reserve a ticket with the Associate Athletic Director, Ms. Jess Spadafora Boone.

Upper School student tickets can be picked up during all lunch periods in the US cafeteria on Monday, January 24. Lower School student tickets will be sent home with the student on Monday, January 24.General admission tickets will go on sale Monday, January 24. All tickets are $5. Tickets will sell out quickly, so hurry and get your ticket for this not-to-be-missed Basketball event!
