State Del. Mike Watson, R-Williamsburg, and GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney's campaign get out the vote effort will hold a get-out-the-vote event in Williamsburg Sunday.
President Barack Obama is staying in Williamsburg to prepare for his second debate against Romney taking place in Hempstead, NY Tuesday night.
Watson and the bus tour will be at the James City GOP Headquarters at 5251 John Tyler Highway, Unit 52in Williamsburg at 3 p.m. Sunday.
The Romney-Ryan campaign "Commit to Mitt Early VoteExpress" bus tour is designed to register voters and encourage voters to vote early in Virginia by absentee ballot.
The deadline to register to vote in the commonwealth is Monday, Oct. 15. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Tuesday, Oct. 30. Voters can cast an in person absentee ballot at local voter registrars' offices until Saturday, Nov. 3. Absentee ballots sent in by mail must be received by registrars on election day Nov. 6.
