Len Bennett's deep pockets shelled out another $45,000 over the weekend for Democrat Robin Abbott's bid to knock of Del. Phil Hamilton.
The Hamilton v. Abbott race looks to be coming down to the wire in the district that Hamilton has represented for years, but one that actually breaks pretty solidly for Democrats in statewide campaigns.
Abbott's law firm, Consumer Litigation Associatesled by Bennett, has been her main backer on the trail, and he has given generously since the very start of the campaign. Now in the final hours of the race, he continues to keep the checks rolling in. The giving is listed under Bennett's name and the law firm's name too.

If you look at the totals Bennett has now given $100,000 to Abbott while CLA has given about $120,000.
Meanwhile, Hamilton has now moved over all the money from his Political Action Committee Leading VA Forward into his campaign coffers. Hamilton appeared to have about $161,000 stashed away in the PAC so the reserves have been a nice boon for him.

True Annie, it isn't your fault that Robin wasn't at this or that forum, not that I said it was. I agree that the prime responsibility of a politician is to promote themselves, but issues about another candidate are relevant (that other candidate isn't going to unveil his own negatives, do you think?) Again, Bob McDonnell called for Hamilton to resign and also puts out plenty of his own negative ads. Show your purity by not voting for him. You can discuss Robin's "lies" here if you want, this is an open forum which neither candidate posts to AFAWCT.

Neil,
Personally, I would love to discuss the lies Abbott during her smear campaign at a public forum, but unfortunately, your friend, has refused to show her face. How is that our fault? And please don't say that she didn't show on multiple occasions because moderators refused to question Hamilton about ODU. That is a bold faced lie. I attended every forum and Hamilton always answered those questions along with policy questions, openly and honestly. The job of a candidate is to convince voters why they should vote for him or her, not why they should vote against the other guy. This is a lesson Abbott needs to be taught and she will get the message loud and cloear tonight when the results come in.

Wow, look at the irony of Hamilton supporters screeching against "hatred" for Hamilton (which I surely do not have) while using bitter harsh language against Robin Abbott, Len Bennett, nobody commenters like me etc. That's such a pitiful and immature dodge, to rant against people who don't like underhanded deals by politicians. I thought rather highly of Phil Hamilton until that came out. I already explained over and over that I'm a friend of Robin, which is my main motivation for helping her out over here - not hatred of Phil Hamilton. As for consistency, I won't defend against anything wrong "my side" does it if is explained and demonstrated to be such in a reliable public forum instead of the bare claims I see here.
Emails: Hamilton addresses people in those emails, many of them are "his." Sure, given amounts of money would help charities etc. but Hamilton spends for campaigning in the same league as Abbott/CLA etc. And they do help people who've been ripped off by companies. That latter will happen to you more often if big business stooge Bob McDonnell and his crew takes over. Oh wait - McDonnell called for Hamilton to resign too! I guess he's an irrational hater like most the rest of us. Well, please take it out by not voting for him today, OK? Thanks for being consistent.

Everyone-
You are forgetting the 50,000 for attack dog Steve Shannon. Robin has hidden from forums, constituents and community events because her 50K boy was on the attack against Hamilton.
All the CLA/LB money has a foul stench!

Laura you and GOP Sux and Neil b have dillusional hatred for Hamilton. He has not gotten hundreds of thousands of dollars from one buyer. Bennett offered the sell to Cosgrove for way too cheap. Think of how those thousands of dollars would have helped domestic violence, homeless and other charities. What a waste!

Matt:
It's worse than you thought. Bennett and CLA has given to the DPV and Ward Armstrong's PAC thousands more. The simple English term is money laundering. Those groups then give the money back to Abbott and the dollar figure is smaller.
Why is Len Bennett lying? Something John Cosgrove wouldn't sell.

You are such an uniformed idiot. For years Hamilton has had a Financial Advisory team of local businessmen, civic leaders and political stalwarts. They have had 3 fundtraisers a year. Hamilton DID NOT use his computer for any of the fundraising. Hired help did.
You have been an ugly partisan for a long time. You have no credibility. After tomorrow night I'd find a new hobby.

Matt, I prefer the agenda of consumer advocates to those who would rather make it easier to cheat customers and employees. No I'm not saying Hamilton is like the latter, but you haven't explained what the big deal is that Len Bennett is supporting one of his own partners

Matt, where has the money in Hamilton's Pac come from? His left ear?
I don't see you ever talking about the illegal use of NNews email to hide his bid for a job. One sided but I guess your information guru only has one side to choose from.

$220,000 from one source. Abbott is expensive, but at least there is no question about who owns her.
Len Bennett tried to buy delegate Cosgrove but he wasn't for sale so Bennett is trying to build a delegate(Abbott).
Consumer Litigation Associates (Len Bennett) has "donated" over a half a million dollars to various campaigns in Virginia this year. Len Bennett was really upset when Cosgrove didn't withdraw his house bill that gave automobile dealerships more rights in repossession activities (or except a large "donation" from Bennett). Bennett is determined to get the new law off the books.($500,000 worth of determination)
A vote for Abbott is a vote for Len Bennett's personal agenda
