A Youtube video of BET co-founder and Bob McDonnell-supporter Sheila Johnson mocking Democrat Creigh Deeds is making campaign waves in the Virginia race for governor.
Johnson is a Virginia billionaire who made waves when she said she would back the Republican candidate for governor and also be a big part of the Virginians for McDonnell group. Johnson has been a major donor to Gov. Timothy M. Kaine.
In the grainy footage that appears to come from a fundraising event of some sort, Johnson makes fun of Deeds stammering.
So far the video appears to have only been played about 300 times, and it's unclear if anyone outside of political circles will even make heads or tails of the footage. But needless to say the Democrats aren't taking the video lightly.
The following is a statement from DPVA spokesperson Allison Jaslow on the refusal of Bob McDonnell's campaign to apologize for comments that were exposed in a web video earlier today:
"It's disappointing that the McDonnell campaign made such unacceptable comments in the first place, but it's down-right appalling that they refuse to apologize now that this video has surfaced."

if deeds is going to lose then all you uneducated Virginians are going to let HIM LOSE

Creigh Deeds is a moron. Just look at this guy on TV. He is the best gift that the republican party has had in a while. The democrats could not have nominated a worse candidate for governor.

Gin and Juice - EXACTLY! She was not making fun of a speech inpediment, but of Deed's inability to articulate an answer to a direct question. As for the Dems hyperventilating over this - seriously? Deeds has an ad out insinuating McDonnell of not wanting people to have screening for breast cancer and THIS is the issue. As for the campaign not apologizing, why should it - the campaign did not say this, Sheila Johnson did, and she has apologized. Maybe camp Deeds should worry more about coming up with a transportation, tax, jobs, heck ANY plan. If he had one he might be able to articulate it clearly.

Get over it DY, no one cares except hyper-partisans hoping by some miracle, Deeds pulls it off. Faux outrage gets you nowhere. Deeds does not have a speech impediment, he just cannot think his way out of a paper bag after trying to correct a stupid statement.

Would a parent allow their child to make fun of a person with a speech problem? Unlikely! Why is it then, that we allow adults to exhibit this bad behavior? Shouldn't adults be held to a higher standard since we know better, or should know better? What kind of exmaple are we setting for our children?
