First he was gone. Now he's back.
The Republican Party of Virginia had removed the name of Del. Phil Hamilton from its official list of candidates who are seeking election or reelection in November.
This came in the wake of Hamilton's embarrassing job scandal with Old Dominion University which prompted calls for his resignation from top Republicans, including RPV Chairman Pat Mullins.
But after blog posts Thursday noted the absence, Hamilton's name and photo reappeared on the website today.
RPV spokesman Tim Murtaugh said: "We stand by our previous statement. However, as of now, Phil Hamilton is, in fact, an incumbent Delegate running as a Republican."

Hey Phil was in that mess with Askew too. We must take the blame by allowing these politicians to line their pockets with our hard earned tax dollars. When will it end??? Can anyone remember how much drugs came into our community under the leadership of Mr. William Bennet(Reagan's Drug Czar)? Remember when he sat next to Marion Barry (crack head) in D.C. and they held a forum on the drug problem in America cities. Jay Leno could not write anything better. Phil should donate those funds to the children lunch fund. Phil should start working for the people and not himself.

I thought Republicans were very decisive and "stuck to it" etc. They just took him off, then added him back on? It's like those Republicans who rightly criticize Rush Limbaugh, then crawl out to apologize for it a few days later. Well, Hamilton himself is stubborn - at a time when it may not be the best thing to stick to - but his Party as an institution is in disarray.

Hamilton cares but what has he done? Does caring get the job done. NNPS can not make the grade even with the Center for Teacher Quality and Educational Leadership and if public safety is his goal why does NN have the highest murder rate in the area?
Does his wife really get $90,000 a year from CNU and did she really set on the Va. Crime Commission for $117,000 per year?
Are these activities and conducts in keeping with what we have come to expect from our elected lawmakers? Is this a track record of abusing power? Ah just take your soma.
Phil has been there a long time and earned a reputation and a lot of side $ looking out for the little guys (gullibly proletariats) who are paying all the bills

Haha, what a mess the Virginia Republicans are in! And they deserve it. Having lied to the people of Virginia, then running from the "Abolish the Car Tax" in the late 90's, then imposing an illegal and unconstitutional form of government (regional taxing authorities), having voted for the two biggest tax increases in Virginia's history, they have run out of issues to screw the taxpayers, so they are turning on each other! What a bunch of crooks and frauds! I hope Hamilton goes, Glenn (two faced on payday lenders and the regional taxing authorities) Oder goes, and the rest of the promise breaking back stabbing RPVbunch! Time to pay the piper!

Then why isn't Catherine Crabill on the site? She is the official GOP nominee in the 99th.

They had to do that. Unless circumstances change, and unless RPV has some power of which I am unaware (a la the imbroglio over the GOP nominee for Governor in Alaska in 1998), Hamilton IS the GOP nominee in his district. He is therefore ENTITLED to that recognition.
