40 protesters picket Rove appearance at Drake fund-raiser

The Pilot reports that about 40 protesters gathered at the Virginia Beach Town Center to picket former White House adviser Karl Rove's appearance at a fund-raiser for U.S. Rep. Thelma Drake.

Two Virginia Beach Democratic state delegates, Bobby Mathieson and Joe Bouchard, had called on Drake to cancel the fund-raiser after Rove decided to ignore a subpoena from the House Judiciary Committee. Rove, citing executive privilege, said he was immune to the subpoena.

Drake declined to cancel the fund-raiser, which was held at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.
