Wittman introduces bill to let Virginia limit trash imports

U.S. Rep. Rob Wittman is picking up a battle begun by his predecessor, the late Jo Ann Davis, The Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star reports.

Wittman has introduced a bill that would allow Virginia to place limits on the amount of out-of-state trash that can be imported to its landfills. The General Assembly placed a cap on trash imports in 1999, but courts ruled that only Congress can regulate interstate trash commerce.
