Del. Bob Marshall is definitely quotable...

Del. Bob Marshall has about a half-dozen friends staffers and volunteers here at the Shad Planking and Marshall is making the rounds shaking hands and handing out some quick one-liners.

Asked about Mark Warner's sign dominance?

"Clearly Mark Warner is obsessive compulsive about signs," Marshall said, noting that the "sign war" is easy to track but doesn't end up meaning anything.

Just as a quick aside - we did spot a slightly tattered Chuck Robb sign on the way in.

Marshall also wasn't shocked that Gilmore choose to sidestep the sign competition.

"He won't debate me so that doesn't surprise me," Marshall said.

As for his tactics at the festival, Marshall said he's going to introduce himself to as many people as possible, connect with old friends and hopefully make some new ones.

"I can't clone myself," he said.

CORRECTION:

There were HUNDREDS of Bob Marshall supporters out at the Shad Planking today. There were only about ten folks confined to the booth handing out stickers and literature.

UNLIKE many of the paid personnel who were putting out signs for Warner, almost all of Bob Marshall's posse are true believers and volunteers.
