PROUD
That is what I am about today's entry...and I know I have not even written it yet! Alot of things went on last night that made me proud. I am proud to be a Tabb alum, I am proud of Tabb sports, I am proud to be covering them, and...well...I am just proud in general. I feel I am overkilling on this word. How about for once we don't diddle daddle and start this entry already? I mean there is some big news...okay...leggo (I am not starting that again!)...I mean let's go...
GAME OF THE CENTURY
So the best game ever played in the Bay Rivers, in any sport, happens when I am away at college. This regional title game was equally matched all throughout. It was tied, close or tied again. Tabb came inches...no centimeters...millimeters from bringing down the Empire. The game just came down to one shot at the end...the 3...and it was not by Tabb. In the last second Elijah Moore made the 3, which lead to a Tabb loss and Grafton's first ever regional title. It was still an amazingly good game...like my title says we have much to be proud of. The game determined by one shot. I think this will forever be known as the 3.. The Empire stands, however, we could meet again on the court. Baggettball players all had outstanding performances. The scorers were Will the Thrill Baggett had 2, Big Wille shot 3, Machete Mitchell had 6, Mr. MVP made 23, Saint Schiele put up 6, and Mr. Defense Joe Nelson contributed with 13...all that was almost a Tabb win. It is not over yet...still! Tabb will travel to play the Region II champ in Northern Virginia...NOVA! That is where I am! Maybe things worked out for the best! It was still a tremendous job. The article I read said Moore was not suppose to take the three shot...well Baggettball was never suppose to have this season! We were down and out, but turned it around (unnecessary rhyming). We even improved on free throws last night. It was not a win, but Tabb does keep on playing better...and I would say just in time too! Good things are coming. Grafton won it's first region title, while Tabb makes its fourth in a row state tourney appearance, which is like a school or district or state record...something like that. Grafton can have a first anything for all I care...but if we win enough we can play them again, if they win...visualize goal now! Great job guys...and I cannot wait to see you up here!
I DID NOT FORGET
Neither did he...as much as I have been avoiding Coach Ryan...it has become impossible. For the indoor track state meet is today in Lynchburg on the campus of Liberty University...where he attends class. Soccer season is coming up to, so this will be the beginning of a long season. Coach, since we last saw him like in October, has been in and out of rehab 20 times...and 9 of those in the new year. He is currently on house arrest, but he is around if you need him...just can't leave the house. The real news is indoor track is at the state meet. Many tabb runners made it there. I mean the girls did come in 2nd in the region. I say keep on eye out for the likes of Micah Hanks, Brittni King, Dave Camarillo, Blake Finkenhauer, Leigh Ann Soitsmann, as always Commander Curren...and well the entire team just about. You can try to spot them...but they are pretty fast, so...good luck with that! Tabb always ends up successful at track meets...state wide or not...and this is indoor track, so it is inside with heat or AC. Now that is how to do track!! Anyhow, if you are in the L-burg area or just have nothing to do today...stop by Liberty U and check out Tabb at states. The school is pretty strict, but Tabb cannot help that they are so nasty at running! All day in Lynchburg...good luck track...and everyone else...be there...if possible...get better Coach Ryan.
SING-OFF
Now it is Rick's turn...this is him playing a few years ago at the talent show with his band, Rick Ochranek's Organic Orchestra (enough o's?), he is now with Rick Ochranek and the Time Police, but that might be copyrighted...it is in court as we speak. This is Rick's contribution to this contest. I forgot to mention this is the first round. We will see how this works and many votes Rick and Josh get this weekend. Then next round will be an original composition, that will get voted on and will occur next weekend and then the third round is a performance by reader's selection, get voted on that and then whoever gets more votes in each round combined will get the title of Tabb blog singer. I think Rick may win some extra points with using a live performance, even if it is a few years old. The week of nothingness is coming soon, there will not be much to write about...so at least I have this...right?...hey, if you have anyone other ideas let me know...or else it is just going to be sing-off!...that maybe copyrighted too...new name ideas?
That Grafton did hit close to home...that is how Mason did it against VCU...they play again tonight...I do not know if they can do it again...especially after that Northeastern loss. Tonight at 6 on ESPN2...okay, I won't plug my own school anymore...but besides from track not much else is going on...so good luck to them, good job boys, stay clean Coach Ryan, Rick if you need a band name: Good ol' boys?...Rick and the Good Ol' Boys...it is a bit Southern yes, everyone have a good day....and see what I have tomorrow...because I do not even know! Roll Tig!
Peace be with you.
Mr. Baggett has the world in his palm...literally!
Nice video. May be they should have sung, "He's got the whole world in his hands, he's got the whole world in his hand, he's got the whole wide world in his hands....."
