THE LAST DAY OF 2011 COUNTDOWN

It is that time again to countdown the top moments of 2011. Last year I had only been around since September, so that countdown was very limited, but this one has more to it! So let's just start counting down already....

10. Girls basketball - like this year's team. They have only lose one game and even beat Grafton. Also, have a better record than the boys! I know it is still early, but that is why they are #10. I feel more will happen in 2012....but near the end of 2011 this team gave us hope for the winter season

9. Polish hall of fame/ Popcorn's "Wedding" - both were pretty dumb ideas...no seriously I am a little embarrassed they even made it on. Perhaps it is not as bad as I think it was...but I guess this proves that this blog is not always super serious...you can get a refreshing story ever now and then....at least I think so.

8. Quincy dead? - sure, this is not that big of a story...or that serious of one, but Quincy being "killed" was a bold move. I was worried people would actually believe he was dead! He was a big part of the blog for half of the year. It turned out he was just hiding from much publicity...it is dumb...but still a top moment.

7.  Tabb boys soccer - too low on the list? Personally, I knew these guys were good, but I never expected them to make it to the state semi-final. That took me by surprise. They kept on winning and proving us all wrong...or just me. Seriously they were pretty close to getting into the state final. I am sorry to say I underestimate the 2011 Tabb boys soccer team.

6. Baseball - if I underestimated the boys soccer team then I definitely did so with the baseball team. They did not make it to any state semi-final, but the fact they kept on winning was the surprise to everyone. It was just not winning...it was mixed skill, fatigue, pray, and just plain luck. The team lose like 6 straight during the season, but ended up winning the district tournament and going semi-far in the regional. I say the most surprising team of 2011.

5. Krista Meyers leaves - there is no denying Krista was a big part of the blog, but there came a time where she was no longer needed. We had no use for her assistance any longer...and she "moved" to Paris...then after that college. This blog learned not to keep using the same person over and over again...so it helped...and she makes appearances....occasionally...or  annunally...

4. Mr. MVP/ Chiraag Shetty - to be frank Shaq Rodney is a bigger story than Chiraag. He was a break out star of 2011. With the help from his team mates he brought Baggettball to the state tourney again...and was named district MVP. Chiraag...well who else do we have for tennis? This guy had his own day...twice! He may have not won the state game...but he is still the best tennis star we have and they guy who beat last name is Wong...c'mon who really won?!

3. Andrew 1000 - who-KNEE-Oh! The start of 2011 he did pretty good in wrestling. He won his division in the district, region, and then like 7th at state? Not too shabby! Then he came out of nowhere this football season gaining over 1000 yards rushing. I have been saying it the whole time I have ever been writing. You all should know...it is who-KNEE-Oh!

2. 4-peat!! - honestly this years field hockey was incredible! They shut out almost every team! They outscored almost every team! They beat every team! Tabb field hockey did not lose it's name...in fact I say they were the best ever this year! The big question for not only 2012, but years to come is...how long can they keep it up?!

1. What can beat a 4-peat? The fact I even returned! Remember in June I was not sure if I was going to with college and no one was sure if the blog's were even going to be around...but after a month and half hiatus...I came back....and I think most of you did too. Not to giv myself too much credit...but if I was not writing here, we would not have a blog! I guess the same question remains for me too...how long will I be around?

That is this year's list. I think it is prety swell...more actual stories compared to last year's. This is it for me today....so everyone have a great new year....and more is coming in 2012. I said that last year in 2011...and looked at this list! I was right! Get ready! Keep it real and SAFE this holiday and see you on Tuesday, next year!

Peace be with you.

OH BOY...

I gotta write about last night's game...not the top of things of what I want to do. The game before wasn't too bad. It was an overtime win with a last second shot and it was York's like second win! York has good news...but Tabb does not really. This game seem to be a little controversial...so brace yourself...those who were there may get upset by just remembering this game. You have been warned...

I said it could be anyone's game...our records were equal...Poquoson started out strong, but soon Tabb dominated like usual. Throughout the game it came a bit equaled match. Literally, minutes went by where no one scored. Poquoson gained a little bit of lead towards the end, which Tabb was catching up to nicely, but unfortunately did not have enough time to win. In the fist time in 5 years someone else than Tabb won the Bayport Holiday Tournament and it is the first time in a long time that poquoson even beat Tabb in basketball. The final score was 45 to 42. The controversy comes in with the refrees. I have not heard more complants about refs since the Grafton game of this year...guess what? The same refs from game were reffing last night. I knew there was going to be trouble from the start. As a reporter I do not really give in to all the talk around me...but even I, last night, saw some missed or wrongly called fouls. I am not saying refs gave the game to Poquoson by their poor calls? No, I am just saying I think they made some. Whether or not they would help Tabb win is something we'll never know...but I will still say we had poor reffing last night. Just sayin' if a guy fouls with 4 seconds left, it is probably intentional. Last night was the first time I saw when it wasn't! There is not much that can be done. It is what it is. Our guys played great though. Shaq had 14, Lil' Baggett had 2, so did Big Willie and Ryan Sawyer, Machete Mitchell had 5, and Joe the Show put up 12.  All that equals 42...and unfortunately not 46! It sucks...I see better things in 2012, for all of Tabb! I still believe in Baggettball, everyone still does! That is part of the Baggettball spirit. Nothing is over yet...just remember nothing can stop Baggettball...except the refs!   Also, remember if you need bank help, why not go to the Bayport Credit Union? They will provide all the help you need in banking, loans, savings, credit, and more. I believe there is one on Victory? Stop by today!

I kinda have some good news today...well it is not news...but the year ends like tomorrow...so today we have

PHOTOS OF THE YEAR

I have been writing long before January 2011, so I have more than enough pics. In this segment I in fact I have quite a few for the year, so might be small...click and they will get bigger, like always.

A stunning victory to a boys soccer game. Stunning is quite the word for their season...I didn't see them going all the way to the state semi-final!

And, of course, when the earmuffs came out of the tigers mouth reviving the Tabb Sports Blog for another year!

Those are the photos of the year...I think I have more than enough...and I hope this makes everyone feel better about last night. I will have the top 10 stories of 2011 later today or tomorrow. I hope you have a good day. Keep it real my friends. Out!

Peace be with you.

WHOA...

It has been like 5 days or a week even since I have actually WROTE anything on this blog. Here I am now...I hope I did not forget how to do so....or at least do so entertainingly. Before I begin, how is everyone's holiday? You still have a few more days...that was not what you wanted to hear was it? I still have almost a month!....Okay, no gloating...what did everyone get? I did not get any i-pads or kindles...or anything like that...so you guys can gloat on that. But who got a new bow tie? This guy! bow ties = class, which Martin Phillips had.  I wonder does the Tabb Sports Blog need start having a kindle edition or i-pad app? We are not there yet...sorry. I guess this blog is old school...but classy!

MY B

The b means bad...is that old school? Anyhow, I thought the girls went on the same time as the boys...but they actually started a day earlier...so this news occurred on Tuesday. I am sorry I did not have it on here earlier, I just made a mistake....like so many other times! Good news is the girls basketball team won the game on Tuesday in the first round of their tournament. The girls tournament is the Sweetie Howlett Holiday Classic...I assume Sweetie was a person? My mom calls me sweetie all the time! Anyhow, in this first round match the girls faced Norfolk Academy. They proved the bulldogs should have stayed at the boarding school, winning 51 to 42. Among the scorers were Stratton the Striker had 4, Senton put up 3 (working on nickname), Trick Mackey got  2, In-Cain had 10, Holder the hoodlum put up  2, Joseph the Joker had 6, Drury the Bulldozer plowed down 10, and Mahan the Machine put her gears into overtime and contributed 14 points!! All that equals a tournament win...an altogether, which means they have not lose a game! Undefeated! Can you say that Grafton?! Also, it meant they were in the championship game!

The next day that championship game took place. This is going to be a hard pill to swallow...or something many you will not be able to even comprehend...but the girls recieved their first lose of the season. It was to Norfolk Collegiate. I know it is not fair, they were playing a college team! Did you know Norfolk Collegiate were the Oaks? Not Oak Trees...but just Oaks...so they are just a meir shubbery...Iam not sure I miss read anything, they maybe the Oats even! Anyhow, though our girls lose, it was not by a huge margin...only 54 to 49...vy the way the tournament was hosted at Norfolk Collegiate...I see how it is (oh, I hope our boys win tonight at home for their tournament). The scorers were the F-bomb blew up with 2, Mahan the Machine had 13, Trick Mackey got 2, In-Cain got an insane score of 18, Hoodlum had 6, the Joker got 4, and  the Bulldozer put up 4. All that equals 49 points...which unfortunately was not enough...but we got 2nd place in the tournament, which is almost first! I know this break did not go as the team planned...but this is only one lose...coming at the end of the year. We can go on a streak again. Girls basketball is still the real basketball at Tabb High School. Good job at the tourney girlies...oh, that was bad...just good job!

DA BOYS

Like da bears...or da bulls...get it? I did not make the girls tournament. It was in Norfolk, but the boys tournament was at home, 5 minutes from my house, so....yeah, I did kinda make this one. In the first round Tabb had to play Gloucestor. I know seems like a misfortune for anyone. Gloucestor is like the Cobra-Kai of basketball. Their coaches look super serious, the players play rough, they mean business....however they were out of business last night. Tabb dominated most of the game, leading with an average of 20 points or so. Tabb kept scoring while Gloucestor kept fouling. By the end Tabb won 77 to 61. The scorers were Today's Rayn Sawyer had 2, Will the Thrill put up 11, Big Willie got 5, Machete Mitchell put up 15 and that includes 3 triples, Mr. MVP had 13, Professor X contributed with 2, Stilts Schiele had 12, and Joe the Show put up 16. All that equals a Tabb win...they are in the final tonight! Against Poquoson...who beat York last night (big surprise!)...Do not write off the Islanders just yet, they have the same exact record as Tabb, so this game could be anyone's actually. Tabb beat them once...but can they do it again? Can Tabb make winning the Bayport Holiday Tournament 6 years and counting? Come see tonight at 7...so much is on the line!

Remember if you need a bank for anything - loans, deposits, robbery? - be sure to make it the Bayport Credit Union. That was their plug! Well, this is it for today...maybe something special...a bit later...for now this be it! I think I did a fine job of remembering my ways...and like always I kept it classy...which I hope you guys do too. Good luck to the boys tonight and everyone else keep enjoying your break! I'm gone!

Peace be with you.

ENJOY THE HOLIDAY!

12/23/2011

HAPPY CHIRAAGMAS!!

Chmas
We even have a Chiraag Claus! Do not waste your time reading this blog (just today's entry) go back to playing Mario Tennis...or regular tennis...or ping pong, which is like tennis. But no one better play badminton! Did you hang your tennis racket on the door? Your cleats by the fire place? Your tennis net in the living? Are you listening to Chiraag's game mix? Drinking your gatorade? That is what Chiraagmas is! Just chillin'-what Chiraagmas enjoys doing the most! So enjoy this holiday-brought to you by the Tabb Sports Blog-because what else there to do today? Also, Chiraagmas has no presents...only ones that have to do with Chiraag! We may have overlapped with holiday with Festivus...but we did so with Chanukah too...so who cares? So enjoy your holiday...it only comes once year...Chiraag had two days this year....but nevermind...Happy - or should it be Merry? How about....Joyous Chiraagmas to all!

I did not want to write anything, but then came up a sporting event! Yes, today! On Chiraagmas! And tomorrow being Christmas Eve! It is the Mike Duman Toys for Tots Invitational. OKay, it is for a good cause. Also, Tabb wrestling has been doing good. Last invitational they were at the team beat everyone out and came in first! Here we are at another invitational....same result? Hopefully, we won't stopped getting invited! The names you should know this holiday season should be Hallowing Harrel, Quick Hicks, Derek the Dingo, Bruiser Boyd, Steel Neil, Thorn Rose, King Kong Everhart, and basically the entire wrestling team...they are the ones who will be handing out gifts this year...as Tabb wins! What is more festive than pinning a guy down...in fact I think that is part of the holiday Festivus, which is today...so it works. The best Chiraagmas wish would be Junio coming back...but he is still on injured list...but today is a holiday...so miracles have a better chance of happening! Anyhow, today at sometime at Nansemond River, I believe, Tabb takes the mat. What a holiday treat! And remember if you can't, the Duman can!

ALL-STAR

The Daily Press came out with their All-Star list...but I do not think they have every sport. I can only find field hockey and cross country...and I could only find Tabb names in one...guess which sport? Of course, field hockey! It is the holiday season and what's a better gift than Tabb field hockey! That sport is like the backbone of this blog! So here are the names of field hockey players from tabb who were named Daily Press All-Stars and the reasons why:

  • Julia Aymonin - First team all-state selection tallied 32 goals and 21 assists for A/AA state champ.
  • Grace Wusk - Led Tigers with 87 points (37 goals, 13 assists) in landing on first team all-state
  • Bri Jasenak - AA State Player of the Year directed Tabb attack and added 16 goals and 18 assists
  • Macy Peebles - Midfielder was an effective defender while notching 12 goals and 19 assists.
  • Betsy Wusk - Named to AA all-state first team as one of the anchors of a defense that allowed one goal all season.
  • Liz Warness - The goalie for the 24-0 Tigers set VHSL records with 23 shutouts and 22 consecutive shutouts.

Okay, that is the list. Congrats to all who made it. Hopefully, the Daily Press will release more lists, so we can see whatever sports Tabb players were selected from. For now, we have field hockey...which in my book isn't too bad!

TOP 5

This morning the daily press released it's Top 5 most viewed online stories and guess who did not make it? This blog! David Teel's blog did! He's been around for like 25 years...enough fair veteran status. Plus, he makes a mustache look weird! Fine, I've never met him, I am sure he is a nice guy, but 3 ot of the 5 were his! I would like to know if I am even in top 10?! C'mon, I have to be! All the hot stories I dropped....from Tabb...but still I have a small following...I hope....someone or I will try to find out if I am at least Top 10! 15? 20?...I am not going any higher! For you reading right now....just keep refreshing the page, the year is not over yet, we can still make the Top 5, if we try hard enough...

Hey hey, this what I have today. Yeah, it's not long...it is a holiday! I will be back with very minimum stuff tomorrow...then I am on break...and be back like...Wednesday...or Thursday...enjoy your Chiraagmas...Festivus...Chanukah...Christmas Eve Eve...Wrestling Invitational....All-Star Title...and keep pushing refresh! Be back soon...but expect too much...I am no San...I mean Chiraag Claus!

Peace be with you.

ALMOST DONE!

Hey man, I am almost done writing this thing...for the week. What? I don't get a break? I have a few things today...but as tomorrow is concerned...and Saturday-Tuesday or Wednesday? It is the holiday break, my friends! I need to enjoy the holidays too! Okay, we did have a game last night. I assumed not many were going to make it, it was the first day of break...but many missed something that has not happened in awhile....a Baggettball win! I told you they were not out of it! Enough talking? Get to the game already? As you wish...

Baggettball started out very strong....in the first minute or so the score was 7 to 1 Tabb! In fact by end of the first quarter it was 21 to 4! Tabb gained a larger lead, but then got a little tired, so Warhill caught up, but Tabb never loss control. The final score was 71 to 62 Tabb! Now we know who the real king of the jungle is! The scorers were as followed: Sinkin' Sawyer had 1, Li'l Baggett put up 9, Big Wille had 2, Machete Mitchell got 13, Sha-Rod contributed with 20, Yancey  Boy had  2, Stilts Schiele put up 8, and Nelson Joe-nela got 16 (his moves be sweet, kid!) Baggettball is 5-4, which is a little uncommon for the sport....but, again, it does not mean you can count them out, just  yet. What ball is this?....oh yeah, Baggett....which translates to win...in some language? So the boys basketball team went into break on a happy note, more good notes will be played during break and after break. The sinister symphony will start soon, we are just on intermission right. December 28th and 29th the Bayport Winter Classic will take place...the teams in it rae Tabb, York, Gloucestor....and...um...I think it's Poquoson? So that is when the 2nd act begins...if you are in town, what else are you doing? It is a great way to support your tigers over break. Good job on the win guys....that winter tournament is going to be ours for 6th in a row....and remember in need of a bank? The Bayport Credit Union is always a solid option.

POPCORN

7b33564fb2f9__1324311857000
Yeah, Popcorn does not really want to be disturbed...he has been so extra tired lately due to all his picking. It has been twice a week this season. Such a rigorous schedule is tough on a cat. Age does not matter...it is just a cat working hard at anything is a strenuous for them. We gave him the week off, so we could calculate Popcorn's winter record so far....it is twice a week...so do not surprised by big numbers. After doing the math and re-doing the math and doing the math again, Popcorn's record stands as...

36-19

Has there even been that many games? Ah....I think so...it is twice a week! It is still a good record. Popcorn has proved himself again...will twice a week pick still occur into the new year...we'll see how Popcorn feels about it....or I will think of a new way to use him....I got nothing at the moment. Rest now Popcorn, for the picking is not stopping.

JOKE

255716_10150201403368461_534433460_7151343_8115890_n
We forgot Diana yesterday...I do not want overuse....just because she has all this free time from being injured....okay maybe she does not have that much free time...but I still do not want to overuse her. No offense, but she is no Adam Parker, the only guy I am willing to keep using again and again. We have a special holiday treat, a holiday joke from Diana, here it goes...

What do you call a cat on the beach at Christmas time? Sandy Claus!

Get it? The Claus is like claws...it is a cat...I thought it was good. Like Popcorn I am not sure if the weekly joke will be back...or we can have different athletes do jokes...or I need something new! Change is coming 2012.....I just don't know what it is yet!

GOT IT!

100_1244
My tacky Christmas sweater! I am like everyone else...I fit in...right?! Okay, keep your voice in when you say tacky...it is sorta my mom's...I mean flamboyant holiday long sleeve shirt...maybe not flamboyant...but festive holiday shirt. Did I miss my chance to wear it?...No it is not too late! I got it! I'm good! Christmas is not until Sunday...I can still pull this off! I am still down...maybe saying that is not so cool...I do not know...I tried...Happy Holidays to all...you can dress however you like...no matter what day it is! Tomorrow is tacky Christmas pants day...I bet I got everyone there...so ha!

Actually tomorrow is Chiraagmas. Remember to hang your tennis rackets! There is a wonderful article on Julia Aymonin in today's paper or online: http://www.dailypress.com/sports/dp-spt-allstars-fieldhockey-1225-20111221,0,4853050.story She is player of the year in field hockey. Where was the first place to talk about Julia? Oh, right here at the Tabb Sports Blog! Since 1987 Tabb has had 23 players of the year in various sports for the daily press....and now we have blog of the year! Trust me, we do!! Well, I do not know if I'll write much tomorrow...but I'll be back sometime before 2012! Have a good one until then...see you when I can. Bye to all and all a good night

Peace be with you.

INCREDIBLE

That is what last night was...few were there...but those witnessed, know what I am talking about. I will get to the story next paragraph, but here is a spoiler: Grafton girls basketball loss a game...and Tabb played them last night, so.... Well, perhaps my entries have been posted a little later than usual, but I am on break, I get to sleep in! Good thing is today is a half day, so by the time students will get let out, the new entry will be up, so it works out perfectly! Okay, enough filler, time to talk about the game already!

BETTER GRAFTON GAME

I ashamed of the Orange Army! Where were you Commander Curren? Very few saw, what could be the called the game of the year! Like I said in the title the better Grafton game! It was just not overtime, but double overtime...at times I thought we were going to get triple! Tigers did not lead all the way, but always stayed in it, responded, and claimed the title. I always say Grafton just looks tough...and I guess I am right...okay it was double overtime! The main point is...the girls did it! They beat Grafton, who was projected #1 , our girls are still undefeated! All that must mean....Tabb is #1? We already knew that, so whatever! The final game score was 56 to 52. It was miraculous win. In the 3rd Tabb scored 14 and allowed Grafton only a single point! Grafton did not achieve that feat! I said our girls basketball team could do it, so Marty O'Brien owes me an award of optimism! Last night's scorers as followed: Stratton had 1 (working on nickname), Fenton the F-bomb only exploded  once, Pulverizing Piazza put up  8, Mahan the Machine got 6, Trick Mackey put up 2, In-Cain (it's a bad nickname...she did so well at Grafton, maybe we should start calling her the Clipper...or the Clipper Tipper...still seems bad!) had 18, Merciful Macfarlane got 15, Holder the Hoodlum put up  3, and Drury the Bulldozer contributed with 2. Tabb did it! Like we thought they would! They took on the rulers of the district...and guess who the new rulers are now...T-A-Double B! Incredible job girls! I know now the bleachers are going to be filled! The well-deserved respect is coming. We all know the team is everyone talking about...they're our team, tabb girls basketball! Next game is Warhill, but I do not think it is until after break. 2012 will bring even better things...the world is not ending yet...except maybe for Grafton!

YEAH...

That is all I can really say when Tabb boys basketball is brought up. Compared to the previous couple seasons we are not doing as good. I cannot recall whether it is 3 losses in a row...or 4...I am being too negative! This is Baggettball, anything can happen! There is still much season left....don't give up on us babe...Tabb can turn it around. Mark my words! I was right about the girls beating Grafton, so why can't I be right about this? Tonight is Warhill. Warhill has turned their programs around very much...they do not really suck anymore! No more is it an almost guarantee win...so tonight's game will be a hard fought...maybe not as hard as Monday's game...but nothing is easy! However, I see Tabb pulling through! You learn how to win through losses...right? Does that make sense? The Lion shall be not king anymore....actually I think tigers are kings in their jungle, so it is the match up of royalty! Lions are not that cool...people are more impressed with tigers....especially in sports. Maybe it is because there is so few of 'em, but these few hold strong! At Tabb we still got Mr. MVP Shaq Rodney himself, Joe the Show Nelson, Machete Mitchell, Saint Schiele, Will the Thrill, and so many more...Tabb is not dead yet! Baggett won't allow it! Enter break the right way, watching Tabb win! It's gonna happen...you'll see! Tonight at 7 at Home, Pride Rock is ours! Be there or be lame!

BANISHMENT

I brought this up last year, but I have never actual banished anyone...but this is inexcusable! There is something wrong with it. There is a guy that graduated from Tabb. His girlfriend goes to Grafton and plays for the Grafton team. I saw him cheering foir Grafton last year during the Tabb game, it irritated me, but he took too far last night. Not only was he cheering for Grafton, but was sitting on the Grafton...and, get this, was wearing a Grafton shirt! He has gone native! Just because your girlfriend plays for Grafton doesn't mean you have to go all out! You are from Tabb...it is only two games a year! It is too much, I call banishment! We do not want you around Tabb! We see how it s now...red is your new color...just like a commie! I think he is Polish too...oh, he'll never be in our Polish Hall of Fame...and Grafton does not even have one....if they do, no one wants to be in it! You have forgotten who you are! Your roots, they are most important, but I guess not to you! When you are banished from Tabb, are just not allowed in, you are sent to a different dimension. You go to the Able Zone...which is just a horrific place! Ask anyone who went to Tabb from 2006-2010...it is like the 4th reich almost! It looks happy on the outside, but on the side it's hell! You will be stuck there for eternity...just suffering! You have chosen this, I am sorry...so who wants to be banished next?

TACKY SWEATER

I guess yesterday at the school was un-official tacky sweater...I mean it is cool...doesn't anyone want pictures up...or something? It is creative....but I realize I, myself, do not have a tacky sweater...so I guess I am on a mission to find one. I gotta still fit in at Tabb, I am the blogger...and these tacky sweater always pop up. I will not be left out in this new Christmas tradition. If anyone wants to give a tacky Christmas sweater, please do...if not I will get one by Christmas, hopefully, or at least Chiraagmas (even though we wear polos on that day!)...but yeah I am totally getting in the spirit...I'll get that sweater....even if it is my mom's!

It is all today, a little tomorrow, a little Friday...or less...special things on Saturday and Sunday then I have a little break...some more special stuff...then a small break again, but then we are break...that is how winter break is looking! I am always around! You should be too! Shouties saying good luck boys, good job girls x 100000000, banihsment is set sorry, anyone have a sweater, does Chanukah start tonight or was it yesterday...I am not Jewish...sorry...have good one! It looks like it could snow outside...or just rain...whatever! Bye!

Peace be with you.

FAMILY

That is what Tabb is. Yesterday was such a grand event everyone made it out. I saw all our old friends. Seriously, almost every athletic star from last year was there; The Keg, Dominant DiOrio, Captain Corbett, Cy the Guy, Lefty Lyon, No-Mercy Mader, Matty Ice, the Gremlin, Killa Krista, Real-time Robby, the Red Raider, even Jaren 'Fin-man' Wilcox was there, and list goes on. A few '10 graduates were there, I saw a few from my own class, '08 was represented, ah...and I am sure it goes on and on. Of course, present students were there. The Army ran deep. Compared to Grafton's...I mean they're weak quite frankly! It was great to get together with everyone and see old friends....but unfortunately the word: great cannot apply to the game...

100_1240
See that stick? The fuzzy thing with the gold circle on top? It is the Spirit stick! That's the eye of the tiger on top! The stick did work, many did show up, but did not quite work on the court....as a semi-professional sport writer I have to write about the game fairly...or somewhat fairly. I am not going to write an entire article blaming the refs. I like to think they are being fair and doing their best. I am not going that route...but if you talk to anyone else on the tabb side.....it's the refs' fault. As they say 'I'm blind, I'm deaf, I wanna be a ref'...is that cheer coming back, soon? In honesty, Tabb did play very well for the most part, but the one area that has been challenging for them all year is defense. We were in it most...if not all the game, but just fell short. You can blame anything you want, but Tabb did not fall through as expected. Grafton has that long, skinny guy too...I do not think his dunk was too impressive...but I guess he was good for Grafton. Shaq was defended heavily, but still made some good shots. Tabb only loss by like 7 points...not a blow-out...but a Grafton loss is a little sting...but a rematch will come...so enjoy while you can Grafton. Now Baggettball is 4-4...which is pretty uncommon for the sport...the last time there was a Baggettball season like this I think was 2006-2007? Sometimes we gotta rebuild or something....As for the scorers last night it was Ryan Sawyer put up 2, Lil' Baggett had 6, Machete Mitchell got 10, Shaq Rodney had 17, Stilts Schiele put up 4, and Mr. Defense Joe Nelson got 16.  Tabb only had one quarter where they scored only 5 points, but if they had a quarter I think this could've been a Tabb win. What's done is done. I still say good job. Next game is tomorrow at home again at 7 against Warhill...should be an easy game....I hope.

BIG GAME

Last night was big game...but tonight I would say is bigger. It is a game of epic proportions. Two teams, both undefeated, play tonight, someone is going to get their first loss tonight, but the question is who? I, being the tabb blogger, you know I am pulling for the lady tigers. And how can you not? They are the team to beat! The biggest surprise this season...no ever believed in our team before...and now we are getting everyone back for that! Grafton...they have been #1 for a year...Tabb are the new team is town, we should be #1...passing on torch...by saying that I mean we are going to beat you! We'll see if they are as good as the Grafton boys...who may have gotten lucky...just a little. We have the likes of Mahan the Machine, Pulverizing Piazza, Trick Mackey, Joseph the Joker, the Bulldozer, the hoodlum, and there are so many, too much to name, but is the Tabb girls basketball team. Who are 6-0....no one can recall the last time the girls were better than the boys, at least record wize? This game has the blue print for a worthwhile...be sure to make it....it is not just girls basketball...it is Tabb girls basketball...you understand! Tonight at 7 at Grafton (can't wait for the bleachers!), be there or be lame!

MARTY SIGHTING

100_1241
You know when you see a bald spot in front of a basketball game, it is Marty O'Brien!! I have only been in town for 3 days and see Marty O'Brien! We did not really get to talk, he was a bit busy, but I am sure I'll see him tonight. If not...really Marty? I think tonight's Tabb-Grafton is even bigger. I am sure he'll be around....and I found out Marty likes Snapple. That's my favorite drink, too! You know they have a prune flavor...never found it...but it'd be interesting. Marty was not the only reporter there. I saw that guy from the w-y daily, some old guy sitting next to Marty, and a bunch guys paying close attention to the game, writing stuff down...and I was there....not writing stuff down. I got my mind baby! All us journalist make the same games...except I make more....games...not money! Anyhow, you can still see Marty and many others...even me...keep your peeled. Besides us reporters...who else are celebrities at these games...besides Baggett. We have a game today and tomorrow...who knows who we'll see these next two games....Popcorn?

4.7 PREDICTIONS

100_1225
After the outcome of last night's boys game...I wonder how the girls game is going to end up like? There is only one way to find out before waiting until the game is over. We can do so by looking in the journal of predictions left by our blog's genius, 4.7 1/2 , His predictions have been true. He is like Nostradamus...except his predictions are due to his large brain and more true....and not in like a poetic form, but witty. We know we are good at Tabb, but can we pull through? So concerning tonight's girls basketball match-up 4.7 1/2 wrote the following:

"Today a friend asked me if he thought we might come off as narcissistic to some people. I told him I could only answer for myself because he didn't exist."

To interpret 4.7 1/2's prediction, I think he is saying not to get too big of a head. We are good, but do not get to caught up in records or stats and just play and we should be successful. If we just stay focus on the game we should win....that is what I get from it. Of course, 4.71/2's predictions are difficult to interpret...I mean my gpa is not anywhere close to 4.7...or a half!

Yep, 1000 words, so time to end this.I write one thousand words like every morning, you would think I'd become better at writing essays...uggh...not so much. But, you gotta make the girls game tonight, it is Grafton and that is like mandatory...and it should be good....hopefully some other sport can get a win over Grafton, besides field hockey! Good luck girls basketball, hope I see you again Marty, Happy first day of Chanukah!, 4.7 we miss you, I would rather have you then a notebook, and y'know, everyone have a good day..or try  to. See you tomorrow, I'll be around...yep...see ya tomorrow. Out! Hope to see more family tonight.

Peace be with you.

SHORT WEEK

Hey, you guys only have 3 days of school then it is break time! However, in these 3 days, some of the biggest games of the season are going on! Do not leave for vacation yet! Monday and Tuesday are going to be worth it...and Wednesday is like half-day, it's really nothing....am I right about this? If I am not, I'm close enough. Christmas is less than a week away, Kwanzza is one week, Chanukah starts tomorrow, and Chiraagmas is on Friday! It really is the holiday season! Just make it through school and these games and we should all have a fun time! So, hey now, hey the blog's not over....we have just begun!

TONIGHT

Is more than just a regular night...it is the night Grafton plays Tabb...or should I say Tabb plays Grafton! Tabb has had some road blocks and struggles early this season, but in certain situations people raise to the occasion. If something is that important, that meaningful, the best comes out of people. I think this is that type of circumstance. Tabb is back. This is not a Williamsburg team! It is just Grafton. We have proved these guys wrong before and now, why not do it again? They can keep football...but Baggettball is ours! Know your turf! We do! Forget everything you know, it is a clean slate tonight. Anything can happen....except a Grafton win. The Clippers have nowhere to tie down, which is good, because they are going to want to sail away! Everyone is in, I believe, is in: Machete Mitchell, The Postman, Mr. Defense, Saint Schiele, Sir Joke, Number 3, Professor X, and everyone else. Extra points for anyone who can connect the nicknames with the players. This is the last game of the year, besides the holiday tournament, and what a great way to end the year. Tabb and Grafton are playing again. Many things can go down-Grafton...or Tabb's record even more...I can see the first one, more than the second! Like I said the just believe and anything can happen...even flying...okay that was lame! But tonight at Tabb, Grafton is gone, at 7 , be there or be lame. Good luck guys.

TOMORROW

To begin I will give out the stats for Saturday's game. They are as following:  Senton had 2, Pulverizing Piazza put up 6, In-Cain got 4,  Merciful Macfarlane contributed with 4, Hoodlum Holder had 2, Joseph the Joker had  1, and  Drury the Bulldozer put up 9.  That is how the girls basketball team won 28 to 22 against Norview. That was simple stuff, tomorrow the real stuff begins. This game is bigger than the boys...I am sorry, it is...the reason being, Tabb girls basketball are undefeated and grafton girls basketball is undefeated. Someone is becoming defeated tomorrow. My money is always on the underdog (or Tabb) and no one saw girls basketball doing as they are doing now. They are the new team in town, taking the district by surprise. Who do you think has this game. Grafton has had the throne for girls basketball for awhile...there is a heavy expectations for them...so heavy the throne is breaking! Tabb is going to fix it...for themselves! Hey, who has Mahan the Machine? Trick Mackey? Kinetic Kinney (even though she is injured)? And the names I wrote at the beginning? T-A-Double B! That is more than enough! Another great game to end 2011. Someone is losing their first game, but who? I never give upon a tiger. A clipper....I do not know what that is! Tomorrow at 7 at Grafton (nice bleachers! Yay!) Tabb plays them, it is like mandatory to go....so be there or be lame!

OTHER STUFF

I forgot somethings that went on this weekend. Swimming and wrestling both had events this weekend...and both won! Maybe it is a good luck thing that I did so....naw, I didn't mean it! I can't forget you guys! Which one to bring up first, both are good...well I already have the wrestling results up. I cannot find individual stats, but have the overall team scores I have. Wrestling was at the Lancaster Invitational and they beat every team they faced. They came in 1st placing with a score of 5-0, they faced 5 teams, and the teams they beat were:

Tabb 48, Arcadia 34
Tabb 54, Middlesex 21
Tabb 60, Franklin 12
Tabb 66, King William 17
Tabb 48, Lancaster 30

It was a good weekend. And.....I think Junio is back! Please tell me that news is true! Good job wrestling! Lancaster came in last and they hosted the event...Tabb is hosting a match soon...uh-oh...maybe that is bad luck! I am just superstitious! It's Christmas, I blame Santa, he works in superstitious ways! Well good job and I'll post the next event, 12/22-23 Mike Duman Invitational. Remember if you can't, the Duman can!

Swimming did good as well. Both girls and boys beat Lafayette. And the Lafayette boys and girls had not loss in 4 meets until Saturday!! Tabb drowned them! There just bubbles from their water! Tabb is consider a state contender! Similar to the girls basketball Tabb swimming is undefeated! That is two teams for Tabb! It maybe winter, but these waters ain't frozen! Tabb swimming know, Lafayette...not sure...but T-A-Double B is in charge here too! To begin with the results, the boys won 61 to 33. Te stats are as followed:

200-yard medley relay: Tabb (Bowles the blob, Kegelman the K-man, Stone  Malone, Prichard (no nickname yet! ) swam it in 1:39.25; 200 free: Mr. J. Matthews swam 1:50.18; 200 IM: Bowles got 2:03.71; 100 fly:  Stone Malone did it in 53.75; 100 free: Prichard got  53.03; 100 breast: k-man got 1:00.47; and for the 400 free relay:  (Mr. J Matthews, The Tapfer, Jones, Prichard) got  3:35.60

The girls won 55 to 39, Their stats are:

200-yard medley relay: Tabb (Maw-some, Queen Victoria,The Bear, the Kid) got 1:54.43; 200 free: Queen Victoria did it in  2:03.72; 200 IM: Maw-some swam in 2:18.07; 50 free: the Bear 25.59; 100 free: the Kid Kimball got 55.12; 500 free: Brew-Thru swam in 5:28.91; 200 free relay: Tabb (Maw-some, Queen Victoria Barley, the Bear, Kid Kimball) swam in 1:45.04; 100 back: the Kid Kimball did it in 1:03.50; 100 breast: Queen Victoria swam it in 1:11.03; and in the 400 free relay: (Brew-Thru, Liz the Fiz Talley, Kiser the Shister, Ramer...ah...the Ram) swam it in 4:10.22

Good job to swimming! You guys are making the winter worthwhile! I believe your next event is not until January...if I am wrong, please let me know. I am back in town, so perhaps I'll actually make a swim meet...I said perhaps...we'll see. Anyone want to teach me how to swim, first? ...wait I won't be in the water with you? Bummer.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Girls basketball - for being undefeated still

Wrestling - for winning against every team at the Lancaster Invitational

Boys & Girls swimming - for bringing Lafayette down for the first team in 4 meets and still being undefeated

Jaren Wilcox - for bringing Tabb football to Finland

Did I miss anyone? Let it be known!

OF COURSE

Da
Grafton has been doing pretty good. They are almost the rulers of the Bay Rivers district. That's why Dan the Dude is trying to fit in by wearing the crown. Grafton is pretty full of themselves it appears. Dan the Dude is still trying to fit in. He still loves Tabb...but it is hard to do when you go to Grafton. The good part is we can totally pick out Dan at the game! We can finally pick him out! We are going to figure his identity finally? A great way to end 2011 also? Unless everyone at Grafton are wearing crowns...it is too far-fetch. Again, Grafton always thinks they are in charge...but let's look at thing realistically. Dan the Dude knows...and it makes me happy we will see him again. It has been awhile. He could not show him face at that field hockey game...but he is back now...and let's see if we can see him...finally!

Otay (I sound like Mr. Roper!), we are almost at 1300 words, so that means we should end this! It is long enough! Interviews screw up everything...no offense Diana! I hope everyone will be at the game tonight and tomorrow. Both are crucial, true fans know! Orange Army I am counting on you!...I am counting on everyone! I will be there! My second game of the season and second Grafton of the year...at my first Grafton game, Tabb field hockey won their 4th straight state championship! After that I have high hopes for all Grafton games! I see it happening, I hope you do too, so have a good day, and I'll see you tonight!....short week...but not a short entry!

Peace be with you.
