BRIGHT DAY!
Thanks Krista for informing us on that! What's Urinetown? No it's not a row of port-a-potties or what you call it when you change your grandfather! Actually it is this year's school musical! Don't be turned off by the name. It is a delightful piece of theatre. C'mon it's a Jack Poland Production. No doubt it'll be good. The school did this musical my freshman year and it's pretty wonderful. Now, however, there is a whole new cast. Hmmm...better? You be the judge! Yes, it's 3 weeks away, but get ready now! I could tell you more, but you'll have to wait...for now hold your pee...I think that has to do with the musical?
RESULTS
Well, I do not have precise pinpoint stats foreveryone, but I know yesterday the girls came in 4th overall in the state for in-door track. The boys came in 10th. Kiara Porther won the 300, came in second in the 55, and got someindividual awards. The girls came in 2nd for 4 x 2 and boys came in 4 x 2. I think both team won the 1600. Amazing Aymonin won 3rd in the 500 and Kevin Carr finished 2nd in the 400 for the boys. For now that's all I kinda got...but rest assure Tabb returned with loads of medals. The weight would be unbelievable if we put them on a scale. I will try to have more precise stats to come. Thanks to TJ from the LU for being a good guide and great job to all who ran. You guys sure weren't running on empty!
As for swimming states results...don't have those yet....
LET'S REVIEW
- (boys and girls) Indoor Track: DONE!
- (boys and girls) Swimming: DONE!
- Wrestling: DONE!
- Girls Basketball: DONE!
- Boys Basketball: NOT done!
Yes, the hooplah (Okay, I stole that from yesterday's paper. I can't believe I didn't think of that!). This hooplah is, of course, Baggettball. They may not have won the regional tournament, but deserve a high respect being the only Bay Rivers team to make this far! They are still going to the state quarterfinals, but it won't be 5 minutes away from my house...like 3 hours...well you know DC traffic...my word 7 hours then! I have noticed in Baggettball whenever a game is lost the next game seems to be always be a victory! The back to back loses is very rare. This team has proved itself time and time again this season. One time doesn't sound bad! And like always we are all friends! I believe the next game won't be until Friday or Saturday and unfortunately not at home. Yes, the Tiger Den is placing the boulder in front until next season. Though our arena is not active our team sure is! So if you use to go to Tabb and live in Fairfax you're ol' ball team is makin' an appearance! Sometimes the school provides a fan bus, so Orange Army can be mobile! But that's only for student, I think, ...y'know no weirdos! Anyway the hooplah continues sometime next weekend somewhere near DC. Be there or be lame...if you can...if you're going you can bring my earmuffs....maybe!
Aw, man America Week! How great! Today I just have a story, a personal. It's about something very American, fighting. Actually, I think that's very World. I forgot to tell this story last Sunday. I did my Derek the Dingo interview last week, but something happened. I have quite a past in wrestling. Look at this.
That's my Heavy Weight Championship Title Belt of the World. If you want my belt, you have to take from me...the way I won it (or pay me $13.50). Me and Derek happen to be in the same weight....actually I'm closer to 119, but it worked. I asked Derek if he thought he could take my belt. He said yes and appeared to be almost chuckling. I was quite offended, so I put the interview on a pause and it was on. Now, Derek is like 15 or 16, I'm 20, I just can't wrestle and pin down someone that young, so we decided to arm wrestle. We found a table and got our arms in position. Our hands then touched and in 3...2...1 we were of! From the very beginning it was draw. The arms stayed at the same. It was an immovable object meets an immovable object. Veins jolted all through out our bodies, sweat poured off of us creating puddles around, both our eyes were blood shot red, and the train thought was lost to such intense concentration. After 1 hour with our arms in the draw position we both fell over from exhaustion, but arms did not move. We decided we were equally matched and way too tired to continue. Our hands let go of one another. Martin the Maverick did not give away his belt that day, but instead shared it with an equal companion, Derek the Dingo. I have still have it now, but I think we are both give it one another on an equal rotation, but he hasn't asked for it yet! America is great!
PREVIEW
Well, due to Indoor tracks' states yesterday I can talk about track in the spring. It's more like outdoor track. It's pretty much the same events and maybe even the same people. Look how good the team did yesterday, so I am sure our track team will be sprinting for 1st in the district. I'll try to make more events this season. Maybe I'll be able to hand out those cups of water when you guys run! Anyway, I know Tabb, in the spring, will keep on track.
Wow, the Academy Awards are tonight. Seriously, every show on TV had a person on this week suggesting who the winners will be. It's kinda dumb and most these 'experts' just say the same names. It's like everything is expected. I thought the awards already happened and Inception won...turns it is was a dream (those jokes aren't old yet!) Here on the Tabb Blog, we have the film critics, Meyers and Phillips, and we both agreed on a big upset that no one said or sees coming. Best picture: Toy Story 3. Have you seen it? Get on that already! I think Up! got robbed last year! Toy 3 is going to sweep. Woody has been in 3 films now and still no Oscar? Barbie deserves the best supporting female. She played a very strong character. As for best supporting actor Buzz Lightyear has been around as long as Woody and for his role this time he had to learn Spanish, so that may help. However, Lotso played a good villain and villains usually do good in this category. Also, Ken deserves a nomination. He really brings the film together. We could not think who would be the best actress in the film, maybe the little girl, but she's still young. So Natalie Portman can have that! She's hot...says Phillips. Meyers finds her dedication to the role incredible. As for best director, screenplay...oh yeah Toy Story 3! Let's see if we're right!
Well we have a very open week. thought I could avoid it, but I think the Week of Nothingness is going to hit us again! So if you have any sports pictures or just cool pictures, poetry, art, good test grades, stories, or anything you want to share just send them to phillipsma@verizon.net. I may not have much to write about this week! Help me out! (Marty send the hair picture!! Please! I am sure you would not misplace a photo reminding you of the good ol' 'fro days!)
It's it kids! Carpe diem!
Ballin'
Peace be with you.
It is impossible to win an Oscar portraying Mr. Baggett, no can imitate him!
