What? I'm back....not exactly....but two years ago today this blog gave birth. Well, it was already born, but a new era came forth! That day I did not until like 5 pm, so it is not quite the official anniversary time, but will have to do. I had to write something....I just left everyone hanging, though it was a happy entry, many do not know what is happening this year. Maybe leaving it the way it was the best way to say farewell...oh, you did not figure out my departure yet? It is like this...the daily press told me if the were going to evaluate the blog program and if I get an email back saying I can continue to blog then the program is back up...yeah I never got that email. No surprise, what other blogs were updated last year?! As I am writing this I am not sure if I am breaking a rule or not...but I am sure I am not getting paid for this! This is like a reunion entry, I gotta let you know how me and everyone else is doing! The unfortunate part is, I am not sure how many readers I'll have for this entry. I mean it has been 3 months since I have written this....and even then I was not sure how many were still reading! We will make the best of it all and see what happens...but without further adue, let's beging.....countdown?....3....2...1...
So new news on this blog? Tabb Blog Inc. was bought...but not by google, actually bing. They thought it would increase their stock, not sure how that is working out. I have like an adviser role, overseeing all the projects in the company, but I do not do as much. The Wiz Kid is still president and actually was promoted to higher position in the bing company. Quincy gave up his position to enjoy college...and was offered to be Chic-fil-a's college spokesperson, but turned it down. We are all still friends though, this company did not tear us apart. What other characters were around this blog...it has been so long...um...4.7, as we know, is president of the school. His administration looks promising though still early. The Forest Fire opened up her own model agency near Yorktown. Josh and Rick are working on an album together. Dan the Dude is realising his memoirs in November, you will know his identity by then! Red is returning to Tabb, finally, in December. Adam Parker is working with the Wiz to become the presidenr of JMU, like legit president! Junio is at the naval academy and is dating new of our fav runners, Soitsmann, which proves once again this blog brings people together! It is the blog effect! I wrote about both of them and then they date! I have many more examples! Commander Curren is in charge of the Hokie Herd at Tech. Coach Ryan gives motivational speeches about his past addictions and is working on a movie deal. Q-train tried UFC this summer and nose is permanently out of joint. Tom Malone revived himself to go to school at GMU!! Joe Nelson smiles all the time now, playing for VMI and Everhart does the same playing rugby at American International College, Thomas is still a lacrosse champ, and the Hunter is still a beast! The hipster is beingh different as always and host her own radio show. Our Krista hologram broke, but she has agreed if this blog if reactivates to come back on it. Diana Kinney is a joke writer at UVA, that is her major...and pretty much everyone else who is on this blog is in college and doing good! Is that a good enough update?
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
I did not leave out Popcorn! Trust me, I did not forget about him! His life has been even more laid back since he has no picking to do. His life is more one of a cat's! There is a reason for that, it may not have reported, but Popcon retired from picking in July. I cannot quite recall his record, but it was alot to a little. He has hall of fame stats. Popcorn can afford to retire early....and someone is turning 3 this year! It is Popcorn's twilight years, he needs to enjoy them. No other animal or person (take that Marty O'Brien) has been able to match his talent. They have to get him to go other places like the newspaper or cable, but Popcorn has stayed loyal to his master, for that I thank you. It has been decided to elect him in the Tabb Sports Hall of Fame unanimously. It is well deserved. Let us celebrate the astounding career of Popcorn Phillips. He is still be around....but just not doing much of anything!
Besides my fictional blog universe what has been going on in the tabb sports world? I have heard a few things, football has performed well, but no wins yet. I am always modest with my record predictions, but so much talent has become present in the Bay Rivers this past year, I will be honest I think they can win 1 or 2...maybe 3 or 4, but they will have to work hard! This is Schiele's year though, it is all him, he will become a saint officially after this season. All-Around Jake Brown and Shoeless Page create a show ready to happen. Watch out for Maniac too! I do not know about York, I hope we can stay in it. I am not even sure how other sports are going. I was never really good on my coverage, but how is volleyball? They still got the Hurricane, that is good. I am calling it now, Sydney Galzoois, BRD player of the year! Golf totally passed us by...anything significant happen? What else is there?
MY FAV
Of course I did not forget! The sport that made this blog popular! The most successful tabb sport in the past decade! The 4-ring circus! The Greatest Show with Sticks! Tabb field hockey, enough said! I really do not know much of their record actually, I heard they beat Maury, and if they loss I am sure I would have heard about it! I was a bit weary not coming back and writing this for I knew field hockey would not have a "home" anymore. They are going for a 5-peat and no one really gives them much coverage! I have thought about starting a blog for just them...but I need someone to give me scores and stuff, the Jazz is gone. I do not even have to do this, anyone can! It is that easy. My email is phillipsma@verizon.net, let's see what we can do. For now I know field hockey is successful because that is tabb field hockey! Come November we are getting one for the thumb! I said it first!
It would be difficult getting scores this year, you gotta pay for hrvarsity!! No one buys newspapers anymore, so they gotta make money somehow! $12 a year is not too bad. I am busy myself, I got a job at our concert venue, I'm like an usher...and get to see the shows for free! I have an interview to be a sub next week! I write for the school newspaper, I have to be factual there, not likze this blog! I am starting blogs, doing stand-up, manage the club baseball team, work at camp throughout the year, have regular school work, and more. I am busy...I probably could write this blog....but it may not be as good. I know this may not have been the best reunion entry, but it has been 3 months since I have written this, give me a break! I wish you all a fantastic school year and best of luck in everything! Maybe I'll stop by every now and then to say hi, until then, tabb sports are still going on so be there or be lame! Roll Tig baby!
Peace be with you.
"Hello, my friend, hello." - Neil Diamond
Yep, it is that time of the year again. The time when everything is done. We cannot stay in school forever. I am not just moving on, but so many other students are as well. Whether it is graduation, moving literally, or just going into the next grade, no one is staying in one place. There are no sports going on - we have drained the 2011-2012 school year for all it has. I believe this blog has taken every last drop and now there is nothing more. It is the last day of school (right?), so it should be the last day of the blog. The 14th is an important date to the blog. Our inception was September 14th, so ending on a 14 makes us happy...and 13 felt unlucky. This is the last entry of the year...no extra entries, no requests...I have class, I do not have time for that. This is the last thing, straight up. Why make a huge production? So, not as if I did not begin already...but how about we go into this a bit more...
WE DID IT!
When I say we, I mean, I wrote the tabb sports blog and all you seniors are going off to school. Did anyone see this year ending up like it did? I proved that I could write the blog whle 2 1/2 huours away at college. It was challenging at times, but I always had something...maybe not always the score....but that was not always my fault! They do not post results alot! I think we had a pretty good sports year from a 4-peat, Baggettball success and girls bball success, soccer dominance, boys swimming title, Chiraagmas...Chiraagth, Andrew 1000, lacrosse is still around, Commander Curren and the Orange Army, and alotta of other dumb stuff we wrote about like Tabb Icon. Everything has a bookend, everyone of you students, me, all "characters" who appeared on this blog, everything is alright. I was not sure if I was going to come back this year, but I did...on August 1st....I have been writing this damn thing for 10 months...like everyday! If you honestly put together the number of days I took in past 2 yearss, it would be about 2 months...or close to it. I barely know how to go on with my day without writing an entry! Every morning around 7:30, I write this and go to class...I am really looking forward to sleeping after this!...and I still passed all my classes by the way. I am not too entirely sure how many people actually read, but I know we are well known at least. People are aware and can check it out whenever they please. We are like a tabb staple and when the blog universe and the real universe collide, guess who will have the last laugh! But thanks to all who read and the super hardcore fans....what is this without you? The only person who was lame this year was me...because I could not make any games...but I have a good excuse...all who live far away do!
MY FAVORITE
Of course these guys are my favorite! They are part of my college family! Emily Yelton, some guy I don't know,...oh snap! Tom Malone!!! GMU just got more awesome! Best of luck to all graduates, wherever you are going...except JMU...okay, it is not too bad...the Wiz Kid does not bite...but is weird! These years go by so fast. Last year Q-train graduated and now Quincy...all my Q friends! I have watched you guys grow up practically! I remember when Quincy was 6'4...so how will the blog next year? The truth the matter is...I don't know....I don't know about anything...I am not sure if I'll be back. I mean I am not in the area, I am in college, I have to leave tabb sometime, I have been associated with that school in someway since '05!...I mean, jeez! Also, every summer the daily press reevaluates the blog program, considering the last time anyone blog besides me was October, is not promising....but do not worry. Nothing is known, be happy now, I got classes to finish up and then summer camp to work. I'll be back in town on July 30th, yep two days before the first of August, we'll see what happens....for now just enjoy yourself. Like everything the future is always unknown...but does always end up the best...
THANK YOUS
I have to give up to the daily press for continuing to let me do this, Lynn Burke, Marty O'Brien, all are great people. All athletes, all participants to this blog...you gave me alot of material to write abut and made this blog better. Again, all my readers and anyone who helped me out. I especially wish to thank Mrs. Jasenak. Mrs. Jasenak has helped me out for the past years. She is instrumental to this blog. She never misses a game. All the field hockey and girls soccer (occasionally boys...a little) scores, pictures, and news would never have been here without Mrs. Jasenak. This blog would not be as good. I wish I had a Mrs. Jasenak in every sport. I cannot thank you enough. Your help meant a tremendous amount to me. I know your connection to tabb high is ending, but thanks for everything you have done for me and best wishes to you and your family.
I think I improved on this blog very much so. I had alot more on this thing...and like at least around 1000 words every day. My word, this blog probably has 1000000 words 1000000 pages and 1000000 mistakes. For every 100000 things that work on this blog there are 10000 things that don't....but we make the best of it. The blog we just don't include people currently in school, we have my friends, past associates, and anyone. It does not matter if you leave, where you go, what you accomplish, who you become, at the end of the day we are all connected by the high schoo. We'll always have that, it brings us all together-we'll never be apart...really. Thanks for the great year, congrats tomorrow for seniors, congrats to all for passing the grade you were in, see when I see you, keep them in line Kirby, stay safe mom, run the school well 4.7, we made it through the year with no fake deaths too...this all for shouties! Have a good one, be there or be lame, and Roll Tig!
Peace be with you.
"Ain't no good thing ever dies, I'm gonna take it with me when I go." - Tom Waits
I know, I know...how am I still writing...or maybe we should asked, why am I still writing? It is beyond me...but I do not see myself making it to Friday. We have a few more things to do and then it is all done. How many people are even still reading? Is school still going on? I don't know myself...my school is for another week or so. What else is up? How are exams...is that a good thing to talk about? I am just putting in filler here...but no more procrastinating, I guess, and let's just start this mess like we always do. For some reason we still have a tabb blog...I don't get it either....
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Okay, let's just get down to business. We have had player of the week and the month since August...and now let's name the big one: the player of the year. It was not easy to pick...and as I think about I probably have to pick a girl and boy. It is usually that way. Superlatives even give two separate awards...so I guess it is only fair. To be eligible for this award you have to have played for more than one season...I mean it is the year...it makes sense...so one boy and girl who defined tabb sports in 2011-2012 This who we were thinking...I hope guys agree...and if you have any pointers....share
GIRLS PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Bri Jasenak - She did not play all 3 seasons, but still is probably the most well-known tabb female player. In both field and soccer she made like All-State selections. She was field hockey's player of the year...and she is not even playing that sport in college! Jasenak's stats hit the ceiling, they are hard to believe she has done so much. Jasenak's has only a 4-year career at this high school, but in these 4 fours, she has made things look like a pro. If I was to give an honorable mention, I guess I would go with Leigh Ann Soitsmann. She ran all-year and found much success getting state recoginition in indoor track and outdoor track. Soitsmann was just always kinda under the radar. Running is just no appreciated.
Andrew Junio - there were others in the running that I thought about...but I felt Junio made a deeper impact. It was a fast start in the fall with more 1000 yard then what was he like 4th in the state? And perhaps his track season was not as memborable as the other 2 seasons, he was still there doing his thing. Junio is Junio...everyone knows how he does. I do guess have an honorable mention: Joe Nelson, he was around for all 3 seasons, helped out his team, and made it to states twice!...I mean like the state tournament for basketball and was in states for shot put...or is it pot? Anyhow, Joe had a good year too.
Yeah these are the people I got....and yes being a senior does help. I mean all these people are not going to be back next year. I know it is hard to believe, but they definitely made this year what it what was...which was awesome! Congrats to al players of the years and even honorable mentions. Best of luck next year.
THE Q
In times like these, around graduation, it is nice to see the future of past friends...and here is Michael Quintana. My dear friend...boxes! How sweet is that? I did not know he had it in him either. Since he has graduated, been a West Point, he has become a man! Those barely look like boxing gloves. It is more manlier to do boxing with bare knuckles. Quintana was always pretty awesome..but, man, boxing...that's what's up. The next time Michael has an event we will make sure to pay-per-view blog-style that event. See graduates even in a year after high school you can change...and in some cases become...well a bad ass...or at least look like one in a picture. What?! I had to say it...joking. This picture makes up for you not writing me back...and I wont make you upset anymore. However, we need a new nickname, Q-Train does not work, you do not run anymore. Quicksand? Q-fist? the Quest?...I am just thinking of q names now...but, well, do super well first and then we'll think of a new nickname. Keep doin' good dude...and I guess now, no one will make you made.
SUMMER CONCERT
It is not a direct blog concert tour, but it involves many associates to the blog. Rick and the Time Machine are going out on tour this summer. In the Summer of the Past Tour (time machine, get it?). It is just not Rick, the opening act is Tabb Icon winner, newly produced album singer, Josh Williams...who I hear may have some duet numbers with the Time Machine. And to chill things out and because Rick has such a good sense of humor, Diana Kinney will be doing some of her jokes as an opener. This sounds like the best concert ever. Tour dates as following:
6/19 - Yorktown Beach
And other dates are to be announced...but there will more than one...hopefully...I am sure. What are you doing this summer? Is it not as good as previous ones? Step into the summer's past then, with Rick, the Time Machine, and countless number of special guests...who knows maybe even a blogger you know. Anyhow, this summer there is at least one concert going on...be there or be lame...oh, I have used that in over a week! ...and tickets are tba...and you beat the Hipster and her crew will be there!
And the Krista Meyers hologram may show up for the concert too...the person is just too hard to book. You know when you see our Krista Meyers hologram that it is time to end things...oh not just for today...tomorrow will be our last entry of the year. I mean, seriously, I have to...I am surprised I am even going this long. At least stop by tomorrow, it will be in the morning. Shouties saying congrats to the players of the year, the Q-trap? (that good?), Rick's tour, our hologram, stay safe mom, and everyone have a good day. Be back tomorrow and then....ah...Roll Tig!
Peace be with you.
"Let's rejoice in the beautiful game." - K'Naan
I am here...are you here? 12 is my lucky number, so I am feeling good about today's entry. Anyone have news...anything new?...Besides finals going on and graduation?...Yeah, more exams...I swear public high school have so many exams you have to take...I swear I did not take that much...okay I had no APs either. It is election day in Fairfax County...that is pretty big...though no one in high school have vote yet...wait, well some, but Fairfax is not too close...but I think Election Day is everywhere...all votes count. It is Russia Day, this celebrates Russia as a soverign country...so it is non-Communism Day basically...that sounds good to me! Anyhow, that is what you have for today, perhaps the blog can add to the day...I hope...'ight here we go...
ALL-STATE
The only All-State selections that were announced was boys soccer. Yeah, I do not know if we even had Regionals selections, but states is pretty cool...it is bigger. We have not had girls All-State soccer yet...baseball was announced, but I did not see any names...and there are not many lists from spring that has names from Tabb...all besides the All-Blog selections and anything else from this blog...this All-State boys soccer selections has two names on them...which are two of the following...
FIRST TEAM: Reilly Maw - 36 goals this season! That maybe a new Tabb record!...a blog record none the least....he is player of the season, at east...him or Bri Jasenak..
SECOND TEAM: Tyler Evans - ...yeah they did not give us any stats on him...but only goalie from this area to make the list!
This all they gave us...hopefully more are released...by like Wednesday...or you'll never know from this blog. Congrats to all who made the list. There is nothing you can rank higher than All-State, there is no All-Nation...yet...yo, All-World...that would be hard to make for the world. Congrats once again.
PLAYER OF THE MONTH
It was very difficult to pick a player of a month. Let's honest, how many days did we actually play in June? It was about like 7 or 8 days....or we ended on the 7th or 8th...so technically the number of days in June we actually played may have been like 2 days. I do not think I can pick a player of the month...but how about a sport of the month? What ruled sport ruled June? What did we hear the most from? Which team made it far into states? Of course...soccer! They kept us alive in June. It was a short time, but they won and made it to states in this month. It has been all about soccer for like a month almost. All other sports ended pretty much by the end of the season, but boys and girls soccer had games, not just like one a week, more like 3...or more (not really)...but it was a full week of material. We weren't sure how soccer was going to be as good this year, but it turns out that soccer is like basketball and field hockey...they're always do good. Soccer had a great season and lasted longer than any other sports....also about 16 All-District selections together, 4 All-Region (girls only), and 2 All-State (boys only)....and there is more coming. But yeah soccer, did very good in June. The player of the month is a sport...it makes sense if you think about it...congrats to all soccer contributers
QUINCY
Do you remember when Quincy first appeared on the blog? He was not able to get Chic-fil-a because poquoson football players were packing up the place and Quincy was always late to class. Well, that was back when Quincy was a tall scrawny punk, but he is a tall scrawny somebody. Quincy does not have to wait anymore for Chic-fil-a! After like 2 years, Quincy finally got a sandwich! No poquoson in sight...they realized their place. How can Quincy no have to wait anymore? Quincy is a star...think how many times he has appeared on this blog...from death, from contests, and vice presidency...and more. I still say Quincy owes us...well I did say that. I got a package from Quincy...inside was a Chic-fil-a sandwich with a note reading 'thanks'...so I think we are good. Quincy can have his Chic-fil-a and with him going to JMU, he will be with the Wiz Kid...so our corporation will become stronger, the new headquarters will be in Harrisonburg...unfortunately. Quincy has grown up so much and even dresses nicer and has become a star, but at the end of the day all that really matters, like to us all, is Chic-fil-a. Thanks for being around this whole time Quincy.
This is it for today...I will have enough stuff to be around for a couple more days. Yeah...I don't know what I am doing..but come back because soon enough there will be no new entries....so somebody stick with us. Congrats to all-state selections, the sport of a month, and Quincy. Player of the Year will be announced tomorrow...and it won't be a sport....but an actual person...stick around to see. Stay safe mom, see you guys tomorrow...is school over yet?...I hope mine is! Okay, bye! Roll Tig!
Peace be with you.
"The hulksters in the house, check him out, check him out!" - Hulk Hogan
It is a new week...but do not expect that much...I mean we're not going to have picks or anything. What games are even going on? Wait, none...did you hear about that one game...where jamestown boys soccer won the state title...ohh...well at least they beat the team that beat our boys soccer team...but did have to be the state title game?! At least it was the girls team, Tabb actually took care of that. What else is going...um...it is the 13th anniversary of DeForest Kelly's death...Dr. McCoy is my favorite Star Trek character. It is ironic now Bones is actually bones...too soon? He is still a doctor, not anything else, to me. We do have stuff....but do not expect us to be here by the end of the week...here we go now.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
We can do this...games actually went on last week. This will be the last time we do this year...unless something really cool happens this week. ....oh, and will we have a Player of the Month for June?...um...I guess comeback tomorrow. It won't be player of the month...more like player from the past 2 weeks...but it will include all months on this blog. Anyhow, this is for all you guys who played last week. All you guys that kept your team going far into the playoffs...sure, no state wins...but a player of the week appearance....which is almost just as good...depending on who ask. Anyhow, here are the picks...
Girls soccer defense - for allowing Loudon County only one goal in the 2nd half compare to 4 in the 1st
Boys soccer - for turning their season around and making it back to states
Chiraag Shetty - for making i up back to the state title game
Commander Curren - for giving us great year of service in the Orange Army
Honorable Mention: Andrew Junio - for at least winning something at prom
I know it was not the best list, but it was really all that happened last week...but if I missed someone let it be known...or we'll never know...
TOP FAN
Being around as long as we have this log has alot of fans...or I like to believe we do. I do not know everyone who reads...but I do have a person I consider the blog...well not only this blog...but tabb in general, we call him Lin. You know you are a tabb superfan when you dress up like a giant tiger. I know Lin reads as much as he can....and hopes the best for tabb...and not the best for grafton...so see he is all about tabb...do not be disturbed by a grown man wearing a giant tiger suit. The only dispute we have is...he does not like earmuffs...but for the record they are still lucky. All I am saying, since I have graduated the football team has not been as successful...which could be because of many different reasons...but I consider no muffs one. In Lin's respect, he did coach many teams to successful records without earmuffs...but he is the only at tabb to do that. Look how adorable he looks in that tiger costume, I had to make the top fan of tabb. No matter what, I know Lin is reading...but I just do not know what he is wearing when he does so..
DAN...
This is he, Dan the Dude. This is the guy who has been hiding from grafton for years. As you can see Dan is just a gentle as I am...see his cat...I had to get him involved somehow. Dan is graduating this Friday, so he does not need to worry about hiding anymore. Who knows if he'll ever return to tabb or grafton? I hear he is going to Tech...so he will be a UVA fan?...See how I came up to that. Actually, he will be besides Commander Curren, he is under a good wing. This is the end of an era...I mean Dan the Dude is no more. Why is the picture so small?...I mean I could reveal him completely!...there will always be a bit of mystery behind Dan the Dude...but I did put a full picture of him on the blog. Try to figure out who he is by this small picture...and also others call him by Mr. Stevens. Wherever you end up Dan the Dude...you're presence will have an affect on tabb-grafon relations...that tabb is better. Best of luck to you...come back anytime...not as if anyone will know. No harsh feelings with being a grafton fan for a bit...but we allll know Dan the Dude always will be a tabbie. Thanks for the support from all us in the Tabb community.
Hey, this it for the day....still not much...but we got something...and tomorrow we do have a few things and the next day who knows? Have a good, fun last week and exams. Everything is ending...except summer. Shouties saying what up to Lin and Dan the Dude, congrats to the final players of the week, stay safe mom, and I don't I have anyone else to give shouties too...so goodbye. Roll Tig!
Peace be with you.
"The only thing I agree with, is you calling me sir." - Scott Steiner
It is one ogf those mornings...or maybe just days...why isn't there anything going on?! Oh, because school ends in about 4 days? Okay, that does make a little bit of sense. I do not have much to write about, I am still trying to find out prom new,....and the dumb Heat won last night! Man, today is so lame! Anyone got any news? I heard Lindsay Lohan was in a car crash...I guess she's not dead...no, no...I don't want her to be or anything...I am just saying that would be big news, at least...a car crash is pretty big too...okay, okay,...um...it is national yo-yo day....are those still cool? I got one stuck in a tree before...oh, wait the Battle of Big Bethel happened today, that is in our area! The only actual battle to ever take place in Tabb! Also, it was the first land battle in the Civil War and it was in the 757, shout-out!...so that's pretty cool...sure, most people do not even know about the battle...but it was stilll first, therefore, influenced all others after it...so you are welcome Civil War. There would be no history without Tabb!
PREDICITIONS
I made these at the end of last year....and I did alright. I predicted the 4-peat...then again everyone kinda predicted that. I did alright...boys soccer did better than I predicted again! I always never have enough faith in you guys, I am sorry, this year will be different. Anyhow, this is how I am saying it will go down...and will have to wait an entire year to even see if I am a genuis...or don't know what I am talking. Who knows I may not even be around next year, so this could be my predictions from the beyond...Martindamus....that was dumb. Okay, here are my predictions, not Popcorn's!
Golf - Ahh...what can I really say? I think they will only be missing like 2 seniors. I am sure all golfers will become better as they get older, so more appearance in the post...and hopefully we can rank higher in a competition than jamestown or lafayette, just once.
Football - I was very optimistic last season saying the team would end up being 5-5...I cannot comment the actual record, so many times in the Bay Rivers are becoming better...but I think Tabb will have some talent. Junio gone is sad, but Jake Brown and Harley Page will be able to fill the gap. Only half our o-line left, many defense stand-outs like Stephen Griffin and Ben Wilkie will still here, and I see Schiele having his best season yet. I can't say the record yet, but maybe finishing in the top 8 or 7...we have the players.
Volleyball - There are a few players who are gone from Maniac Mack, the Bear, Skubic Cube, etc. ...but there is still Hurricane Sydney...probably the top player on the team. I can see the team coming together and...no seriously...we are beating grafton, mark my words!...but yeah the team will probably do about the same. As long as they stay focus they could beat expectations...so who knows what can happen
Field Hockey - What can I say about field hockey? We going for the 5-peat? Sure, we lost some player especially the Big 4...but tabb field hockey has loss some players before and still came back to win the state championship. It is an instinct for these girls now, you can't stop them. I am not worried, tabb field hockey does whatever they want. So...do I believe there will be a 5-peat? No, but I believe there will be a 9-peat!
Cross Country - Yeah, I was never too good with cross country coverage, but I know the big name in that was Finkenauer, it has been for like 2 or 3 years now, but besides that blow, I think the sport will probably do the same as it always does.
Boys basketball - I thought this year was not going to go so well, but we made it back to states. We loss some senior last years and are lossing some big names this year...probably even bigger names...but as long as we have Doug Baggett as a coach I do not think we will have a problem. The team start out not the best, but will finish the best. No matter who is on the team it still Baggettball. Enough said. Rebuilding year, I don't know about states, but post-season, yes! It is rebuilding the Baggett way!
Girls Basketball - a new tradition started this year. These girls can ball, not many seniors left and grafton's best player is gone, so we are in the perfect position to have tabb girls basketball dominate the Bay Rivers!! Piazza being gone may sting a little, but we have many players who can fill her shoes. We are starting where we left off. In the 2012-2013 sports season it will be the year of tabb girls basketball...all the way this time.
Wrestling - I do not know that much about wrestling, but I know a few seniors are gone, but some still really good guys are still here. State contenders like Richard Harrell and Jacob Rose will still be around. Old favorite like Derek the Dingo are still here. Before he graduates Richard Harrell is getting that state title...now is it this year or next...when does he graduate? Anyhow, still same good ol' tabb wrestling.
Swimming - There was alotta senior strength on that boys state team, but there alot left...but not the strongest known as Bowles :( . The girls did not lose too much. I cannot say we are going have a 2-peat, but tabb boys swimming will be the team to beat and girls will be a comparsion of the boys. Tabb swimming will own the water ways, you hear me! We'll have state winning swimmers, but an entire state winning team...I don't know if that'll take place...prove me wrong...
Indoor track and track - I guess it will be similar as cross country...but there are more names here, Micah Hanks will do even better, so will Brittni King...oh, Taylor Omweg is still here...so girls track is still good. Dave Camarillo will represent the boys nicely...and hopefully he'll get some help...so yeah...that's track and indoor track, they are like the same thing almost, same people, just about.
Boys Soccer - Well full me twice already, I am not a naysayer! Not as many seniors are leaving and some good players are still around. In fact I am going to say the team will actually do better. Sutton and Maw are still on the team...the only important replacement to find is a goalie, tabb boys soccer is not fooling me again. This will be another good year from a good team.
Girls Soccer - I think girls soccer might be different...okay, like 6 or 7 seniors are gone...maybe more...they are still very important roles for the team. It is going to be a challenge replacing them, the team always end being the top team in the district...and they will still be...but maybe not as good as this year. Watch out for jamestown still...hopefully they loss alot too!
Baseball - Baseball is hard to say, you are facing a district with 4 teams you made it to states just about...or actually did. I still do not think tabb can compete as much, but our young players will grow in experience and talent even more. They will do better than they did this year...so much so they will make that 8th spot in the district tournament...but we do need to find a pitcher!!...as long as we find one, we'll do better
Softball - softball always does okay...I would like to see them do better this year. It is St. John's senior year, make it worth it for the best pitcher in the district. There are alotta good teams like poquoson...it is always difficult, but I am just saying softball will have the best season they have ever had.
Lacrosse - this includes boys and girls. The boys did amazing this amazing, probably the best season since the team's inception...but they are losing many seniors. I say the lacrosse teams will switch roles - boys will do okay, but the girls will do better than the boys. The Williamsburg Girls will have loss on their record from T-A-Double B! Hopefully, the club aspect will vanish soon...but probably not by next year.
I think that is all the sports...did I miss anyone? But for the most part most teams will end up doing the same, about,...so I don't know, maybe there will a huge surprise...but stick around for the sports...they will be as good as ever!
KING?
Look how good Junio was looking last night. Bow tie = classy....the sad news is King Junio will not reign again. I guess that takes away from the person who won...sure, my endorsement/prediction for the best year did not come true. However, he make it on the ballot, so my prediction was kinda right. The fact that Junio was even in the running is much credit to the blog. Junio does not really like the spotlight anyway, so he was probably enjoyed the outcome. Junio is still amazing and the man. Junio did win most athletic, that works also, and how would people know about know Junio's success...without this blog? Shut up, we helped Andrew a little...maybe it did not work out as good as we hoped...but if you have not noticed, not much does...Andrew Junio is still the man and a great friend. Best of luck at the Naval Academy. If the Tabb Blog had a king, trust me, it would be King Junio!
Tomorrow, we have some things going on...no really we do...okay, this is up to you guys...do you want to know Dan the Dude's identity or shall we keep it a secret? It is all up to you...let me know by tomorrow...the biggest secret of the tabb blog could be revealed...it all depends on you. More is coming....trust me...but yeah, come back. I hope prom was fun, stay safe mom, and I'll see you guys tomorrow. Bye! Roll Tig!
Peace be with you.
"Nobody in football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein." - Joe Theismann
I really have nothing. It is like a week of nothingness scenerio...except we do not have a week...it is just nothingness....there is really nothing left...except your exams...but concerning sports, yeah there is nothing. I do not have much, but I have a few things I can write, but probably by Tuesday or Wednesday will probably be our finale...then the big finale is on Friday. The year always goes by fast, I wish it could eb longer...somehow...and be like accepted...and I do not want it to be longer so I will have more to write about....anyhow really the blog is not done yet...so still read...someone still read...please!...anyone...
REAL NEWS
All-Region girls soccer selections were announced. I am sure more All-Regions will come out soon, but this is our first one! We did not have as many as girls soccer player as we did in the All-District selections...but this is All-Region, so it is a much larger arena. Just appearing on the list is very honorable. Like half of the state of Virginia are qualifies to make this list....just about anyway. We have three name, all of which are deserving and we are proud of, so here the names....
FIRST TEAM: Bri Jasenak, Sydney Omweg
HONORABLE MENTION: Hollie MacDonald
The list itself expanded to like 5 different pages, but these are the only three names that I spotted, if there are more, please let me know. For now congrats to all who made the list...see the season is over...but we still got stories on the team...nothing is ever over on the tabb blog...have you ever notice how many field hockey stories I have!
ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
If you remember how the Tabb Blog Hall of Fame works, it is like this...at the end of each season we pick the top athletes in that season. The class contains six players...or special circumstances...maybe more...However, there are so many great athletes who just miss the cut. We just cannot induct everyone in one class...so at the end of the school year, the tabb blog alumni association meets up and inducts those players who were overlooked. They deserve to be on the blog than any other players...so to make everything fair...and to have something to write about today, here the new inductees into the Tabb Blog Hall of Fame thanks to the Tabb Blog Alumni Association...if this was printed on hr varsity it would be 5 pages...

MANIAC: THE MOVIE
Remember back during the first season we had the break-out star Ben Wilkie? You know he was referred as Maniac. It was almost Maniac Mania, that guy was everywhere, his game performance was outrageous. Ben lived up to the name. He took notice his cult following and decided to do something for his fans....he made a movie on The Rise of the Maniac...that is the name of the film! It is all written, directed, produced, and starring the Maniac himself...you know all you Maniacheads have been waiting and he did go through all trouble making, check it out. It is not so bad...and you really understand how it is to be the Maniac. This is just a small portion of the film, but an entire film will be in theaters...and attached to the film is the Tabb Blog film teaser trailer! We are all over the movie scene....good video Maniac...get ready this summer because this fall Maniac Mayhem is going to hit!
KING
He has a throne ready...now all he needs now is a crown...will Andrew Junio become king again...but this time a real king...Prom King! It worked when we endorsed him for ring dance...and with this endorsement, we have been pulling for it since fall 2010, this whole blog has been revolving around this possibiliity since our early days...will it finally happen? This will be our biggest accomplishment, our most credible accomplishment, everything we have worked for comes to this...there is no other way to ends this year then Junio winning prom king...you cannot vote anymore....but if you can find a way do so do it now! I am just going to say it now, all reign King Junio...it is going to happen...or else this blog is a bust.
This is all I got. I got stuff to do. I got a teacher exam, an essay, more studying,...should I watch the horse race? No, triple crown possibility...lame! Have fun at prom kids, congrats to all-region and hall of fame inductees, keep it real Maniac, and King Junio take your throne! Stay safe mom...and yes we are back tomorrow...when after that...ahh....we'll see...see ya. Roll Tig!
Peacce be with you.
"Be a man Hogan!" - Randy 'Macho Man' Savage
The situation here is...we did not have an inductee video because during the time of the selection Popcorn was suing us, so I could not achieve a video before I left for school...but Popcorn sent us this video he made instead...which is a simple paint job...but very impressive for a cat! Anyhow, the inductees names are in, it is all official...or about to be...I just have to announce the names, or explain why they made it, I know usually you can hear Popcorn's voice when the announcement is made...but just imagine it in your head, it is very high pitch...because that is how animal voice sound like....okay, okay with further distraction these are the class of spring 2012 inductees, congratulate them...
So, yes here are this spring season's inductees. We carefully examined each sport and these are the names we thought suited the class. The induction dinner in on July 28th and is a $25 meal with a $7 dessert....sorry, but the tabb blog is always trying to make some extra dough...we gotta build this hall...the hall itself will not be opening until 2016....or if you donate enough...who knows...it could be earlier...anyone?
CHIR AAGTH....
I cannot avoid this any longer...the celebration did not quite go as we planned...it was kinda like last year...except no Wesley Wong. Chiraag did not get the state title, it was an intense game. It was in a second tie breaker...and it did not quite end up the best. But there is nothing to be ashamed of, we can still celebrate Chiraagth. Chiraag is a 3-time district and 2-time region winner, has been to state multiple times, and who else is known from tabb tennis? Chiraagth is not a celebratiion of a state title, but an honoring of Chiraag the person. He is a great athlete and a cool dude...state titles are just some other title to give yourself. Chiraag still has one impressive resume', as well as, skill. There are so many who do not win the big game, but are still greats...and when Chiraag plays in college and wins there, he won't be a state champ...but a national champ! That is waaayyyy cooler! Chiraagth is a well deserved holiday in honor to one of our greatest athletes. You had an amazing career Chiraag, I don't know what tennis will be without you...no seriously!
Yeah, this is for today...there is not much going on...like period! Umm...PROM tomorrow...yo Junio as prom king!...but more on that tomorrow....for now congrats inductees, Chiraag, and everyone else no mater what your accomplishment...yep, no matter what. Stay safe mom...like always I'll be around tomorrow, I hop the same for you! I shall see you then, ta ta for now..., Roll Tig!
Peace be with you.
"Hard times is when a computer took your job !" - Dusty Rhodes (uh oh...future of this blog? :/ )
Yes, his day has come...actually come it has come back...one year ago today Chiraag fought in the state tennis state match. The biggest tennis match of his life, the biggest tennis match in the state, a tennis match like no other, where only the few come back. Chiraag had been practicing, waiting, preparing for that game...and in the end fell short....but we won't let Wesley Wong get the best of us...because today Chiraag returns to the state tennis match, to conquer something, the only thing, he has not in tennis and achieve the one thing he has not in the sport, a state title. Chiraag has worked his entire moment for this moment...again. He will not let it slip by...again. Chiraag will not come home empty handed...again. You get what I am doing with the word 'again, right? Too harsh. Today Blacksburg becomes Chiraagburg and the official celebration of Chiraagth shall begin. It is different from last year's day or Chiraagmas, the way we celebrate this day is watching Chiraag tear it up on the court, win big, and become a state champion. Each season this year has had a state champ and well...not to put pressure on you or anything, Chiraag...but you are our last hope to do so in the spring! 3 for 3 maybe a new record...for york county...any other schools around got that? ...okay we don't yet, but it is a possibility. Anyhow, today Chiraag returns t the one place he ever admitted defeat...and this team the place will admit it...does that make sense...but basically Chiraag is not going to lose! Nothing, but gold can stay! Good luck today Chiraag. We all believe in you and know, have always known, you are great! Don't get wonged again! Happy Chiraagth to everyone!...I'll let you knw what happens as soon as I can...
TABB BLOG SUMMER CAMP
We are having the tabb blog summer camp happen again this year. Tabb blog summer camp is where you can go learn about tabb sports, learn effective ways to blog the way you want to to, get into games for free, dye your blood orange, pet Kirby, learn picking from Popcorn, learn how to write 1000 words a day, and much more. The camp is not until the first week of August....and this year we have so;me special guests...that is the right the Forest Fire and Red will be making an appearance. The long time, but faraway, associates of the tabb blog will finally make it back to tabb. They will help learn the tabb blog method and answer any questions you have. Tisa will be promoting her new book, Wild Fire, is about her life in semi-retirement and Red...well he just needs money...but, yes these two infamous contributors will finally show themselves! How cool is that? It sounds like camp will be awesome this year, remember all it cost to go to tabb blog camp $302, plus food expenses. Trust me, you are not going to want to miss out if you don't go...we are going paint all the animals in the zoo with tiger stripes one day...even the tigers!! Join us, first week of August, meet stars, learn how to be awesome, and get money....well only me....but be there or be lame!
BIG NEWS
When I say BIG news I mean BIG...like this actually involves professional sports. Long-time tabb baseball Adam McConnell was drafted by the Arizonia Diamondbacks...like he is joining the organization. He finished up school, and now he is going to the big leagues...which is like everyone's dream. It may have been awhile since you have heard of Adam's name around Tabb parts, but he was the Daily Press' Baseball Player of the Year in 2008...which was a long time ago indeed...but since he has much success at the University of Richmond, even lead the spiders (sweet mascot name!) to the Alantic-10 championship game. He suffered a little bit of an injury, but came back from it. You can see him play for the pilots around these parts during the summer...and perhaps one day do the same for even bigger teams. This is another example of a tabb alumni having much success in the world...I think it is just a tabb thing or something....so much congratulations to Mr. McConnell. Who knows who will be the next big star out from tabb, we do not know who, but we do know there will be one! Congrats once more.
Yeah....there is really nothing going on...seriously, this is all I got. It is not horrible, but we need some stuff to go on...wait school is over just about...the days are ending...but I will still be around for a little longer...I hope you will be too. I mean what else do you got to do? It is upsetting there is not much going on, but then again school is ending, so maybe not too upsetting. More not upsetting news, Neil Young is coming to Mason! Long may you run kids! Shoutie wishing Chiraag good luck, congrats Adam, go to summer camp, Happy Chiraagth, keep cool, and Neil Young is awesome! See you tomorrow! Roll Tig!
Peace be with you.
"Rollin' down that empty ocean road, gettin' to the surf on time." - Neil Young (it's summer, Neil Young is still dope, and surfing is a sport not only in Hawaii)
