Amazon Kindle Free Books Make Me a More Interesting Person
Amazon Kindle Free Books Make Me a More Interesting Person by Ron Maddox
More Interesting, Really? Well I think so and here is my thinking. Have you ever found yourself telling one of your favorite stories and suddenly realize that maybe you have told that same story before to the same person? I know I have, and it is not a good feeling. Reflecting on this, I'm afraid I do that quite a bit.
Enter Amazon Fire free books. I'm not a big reader anyway, I just do not feel I have the time to pick up a book and read it through. In the beginning I did not see the kindle books as a big personal gain for me. The FIRE's functionality and price point got me to buy, not the books per se. But I started downloading free books with interesting titles and skimming them.
Yes indeed, there is absolutely no way I can read all those books, but when I have just a few minutes, I can read the forward, maybe some of the first chapter and skim a little more. I can honestly say that there has not been a single book that I did not get some tidbit of knowledge or perhaps a different way of looking at things I see everyday. Is this big, well to me, it's hugh!
Without a doubt, the return for the investment of my time is there. When I gain a new perspective, a new trend, or any new driver or tension operating in the world I live, I become more current and perhaps even more interesting.
Some may say that more interesting is a stretch, but we humans are correlation engines. We have the ability to pull together seeming random facts and create new information. Skimming books offers us a few new tidbits of information that can help us relate the facts and concepts we know in new ways.
Fresh ideas are interesting, no doubt about it! So, If you find yourself telling the same old story to the same people, maybe this strategy could freshen up your conversations, and ultimately make you more interesting.
