Dell Computer Fire Sale?
I'm here to tell you that a Dell buying opportunity is coming really soon. Driven by what you might ask? Well, there is a chip set change out that is happening right now and the new products will hit the market in the next 2-3 months. Right now, the processor chip set that has been the mainstay is called Sandy Bridge, and the next generation is called Ivy Bridge. Ivy Bridge consumes way less power ( longer battery life for laptops and tablets ) and has approximately 20% more processing power.
So if you are in the market for a new tablet, laptop or desktop, and do not need the latest or greatest Ivy Bridge processor, I think in the next two months you will see some real "fire sale" buying opportunities as Dell and other vendors clear out their Sandy Bridge inventory. The problem is that sales have been a little slower than expected because of our economy, and that by itself would not be a tremendous problem. But with a major chip set change in the works, Dell is sitting on way more inventory than they want and those products are not going to get more valuable over time. So, soon and very soon, I predict a fire sale like we have not seen before.
