You can't please them all
It’s difficult enough to choose your own wedding dress, but when it comes to outfitting your bridesmaids, another added layer of stress can often be brought upon you. There are inevitably going to be conflicts among the group if you choose a style or color that may not flatter each girl. And while it’s nice of you to think about their happiness and well-being, it is your wedding and the final decision should be made by the bride. A good friend and bridesmaid should ultimately suck it up and wear what you prefer. It doesn’t mean she can’t voice an opinion, but in the end, you shouldn’t feel pressured to please everyone.
Many wedding parties consist of a variety of shapes and sizes, so offering your girls options is a generous idea. If you have your heart set on a uniform, matching look, just be conscience of the style and choose a shape that will flatter most body types. If you want to pick a specific color and let the girls choose a style that works best for them, that’s a great compromise. But don’t feel obligated to change your color scheme because one unruly bridesmaid “just won’t wear yellow.” It’s your wedding, and while the nice thing to do is get their input, you can’t always please everyone. If they cause that much drama about a dress, chances are you can do without them in your wedding party.
