Kindle Fire, Part II (Kindle Fire $199)(Kindle Fire Deal)
The new generation of Amazon Kindle devices has been announced and we couldn't be more excited! Why? Because we're lonely hermits who have nothing to do but wait for the release of cool stuff and write silly reviews like this, of course...
According to the world's best place to shop, the new Kindle Fire gives you access to "18 million movies, TV shows, songs, magazines, and books". This is great news for us because we were amazed at how fast we went through the last 10 million movies we rented. Finally, we have something to watch! It had gotten so bad we once rented a Keanu Reeves movie! On top of that they say it gives you access to thousands of apps and games. At last, we shall have access to these fantastic "apps" of which all our friends speak. My dream of playing angry birds has come true as I had only dreamed!
The Fire runs on a dual processor, which is awesome because that means it has to be faster than a single processor, right? This nifty gadget uses something nifty called "Amazon Silk" (sounds a bit dirty, no?) to help you web browse "fast". Much faster than cotton, we're pretty sure.
Our favorite feature (other than being to brag to our friends that we own the "all new kindle") though is of course the "Cloud Storage" you get to store all of your Amazon content. This is cool because the word cloud is cool, and because as those of you who don't have walk-in closets already know, you can never have enough room to put your stuff. Kindle fire deal.
In conclusion, I've paid a lot more for other gadgets I enjoy but don't fully understand than the $199 Amazon is charging me for my fancy new Kindle Fire. And those gadgets had fewer bells and whistles that I don't use than this sucker has. Amazon makes it so I'm in. It's cheap (er than the ipad, anyway) so the price tag didn't make me toss up my lunch. My wife thought it was "cute" enough to let me get one (provided I got her one as well, of course). The entire new line of Kindles is available for pre-order and ships for free beginning on November 15th. I'll be waiting, Mister UPS guy. Kindle fire deal.
