Menchville Rocks On and Off the Court
It was rockin' night for Menchville High School, both on and off the court Thursday. In basketball action, the Monarchs defeated Bethel 48-43 to reach the final game of the District Tournament. Patience and defensive rebounds in the second half kept the Monarch's mostly one shot ahead of the Bruins. Menchville played a come from behind first half to lead 24 - 18 at halftime. At the 6:56 mark in the 4th period, the game was tied at 34-34. But the Monarch's showed a great deal of patience when they had possession of the ball and pulled away to a 45-41 lead with one minute left in the game. Bethel stretched out the last minute by fouling when the Monarch's had the ball, but Menchville's defense stayed the course to bring home the win. For Dave Johnson's report on the game click HERE.
In off the court action, the Menchville Rocks Concert Series, now in it's fourth year, showcased the talent of several bands and individuals to a packed house in the MHS auditorium. Great show - Thanks to Pete Mercier for once again giving our talented artists a place to shine.
