Glee: Season 3 Premier

 

Welcome back Gleeks!   I first wanted to start by apologizing about not totally fulfilling my season 2 duties towards the end of last season.  I had picked up a 2^nd job and between the frenzy of that and working on photography, my free time went out the window. I’ve since dropped the 2^nd job!  I must admit I tried to watch the entire 2^nd season in 4 days.  I wanted to get caught up with all the characters and place together where I thought season 3 may begin, unfortunately Season 2 had 22 episodes and I made it through about half of those before it was time for the premier.  Have no fear… I will be here 100% for this new and 3^rd Season of Glee!

“Brittany, what are your plans for the future?” “Wait, you’re working on a time machine too?!” – Jacob & Brittany.

“You make me want to be your boyfriend.” – Rachel to Kurt.

 

Glee definitely shook it up in this season premier.  I love how they started off with Jacob and his vlog.  I thought it was an awesome way to begin Season 2 and I was happy that they brought it back.  Sam is no longer with the cast (one of my biggest complaints about Glee casting to date) and at least we got an explanation that “Hobo McBieber’s” father got a new job out of state (pretty easy to foreshadow), and that Mercedes now has a new man.  I was a bit disappointed in the casting for that one.  Now I must admit that the actor only got a couple of lines and we saw him for all of 30 seconds, but seriously?  I felt like Mercedes could do SO much better.  I’m excited to see where this goes.

I was really surprised when Tina mentioned that she and Artie were both juniors.  I guess I automatically lumped everyone together in the same graduating class, because I don’t remember it being talked about before, but I did know that during the comic-con drama of possibly having characters leave, they didn't mention Tina or Artie.  Maybe that means Tina will sing more – I really do enjoy her voice!

Kurt and Rachel are new BFF’s (Kurt and Mercedes are so Season 1).  They both have a love for the arts and want to go to Julliard.  However, Julliard does not have a dramatic arts program, so Emma suggests that they try another performing arts school in NYC instead.  They go to meet up with some of the other kids wanting to go to this college and are smacked with a dose of reality that we don’t normally see Rachel and Kurt get.  They realize that they’re not such big fish in a small pond, but yet the other way around.  There is a scene where they are sitting in their cars crying in the rain, but they tell each other to chin up.  Rachel decided that she needs more lead roles and Kurt realizes that he needs more extracurricular and is vying for Senior Class President.  Blaine also transferred to McKinley and is now a member of New Directions. 

 

Finn and Quinn are the two that don't have anything figured out.  Finn doesn’t know what he wants to do or where he wants to go; pretty much the fear of most graduating seniors during this time period.  Over the summer Quinn apparently had a total attitude adjustment, looks like someone from Pretty in Pink mixed with Madonna, quit all extracurricular activities, and now hangs out with the group called “The Skanks”.  Pretty entertaining bunch of girls – I hope we see more of them.  Throughout the episode we see glimpses of the old Quinn underneath the Eyeliner, pink hair, and cigarettes.

Did I miss something when it came to Emma and Will?!?!... I know that Emma went on medication to get her OCD under control and that she broke up with Carl, but somewhere I missed the fact that she would be waking up with Mr. Schuester in bed!  I know need to finish watching the 2nd season, but either I have completely forgotten half of their story line or they just threw that one in there for good measure. Don't get me wrong, its totally cute, however I was just very suprised.

Santana and Brittany are doing both Glee and Cheerios this year in hopes to win two national championships.  Mr. Schuesters project this week was the Purple Pianos, where the Glee club was to sing each time they saw one throughout the school to get new recruits for glee (Zizes, Sam, and Quinn are all out).  Sue Sylvester is running for senate with her stance againt arts education, so she had the cheerios set fire to one of their pianos.  Mr. Schuester is gangbusters this year so he told Santana to leave Glee until she was ready to be in it 100%.  Bad ass! 

I hope you all got a chance to see the Glee 3D movie; I know I did, and I promptly fell in love with Blaine all over again (and possibly even more now).   This is a video from the 3D movie of the Warblers doing their thing.
