I love when Glee gets back to the light hearted stuff. I feel like that is where the show is most in its elements. Yes, it kicks butt when it comes to drama; but these kids just are hilarious to watch regarding quick dialog and one liners. Gwyneth Paltrow is such a funny character on this show! I’ve never really seen her in a comedic role… actually I haven’t really seen her in anything. I missed that part of the 90’s apparently. I was bored during “Shakespeare in Love” and honestly don’t remember watching anything else she was in. I am going to have to re-think my choices.
Everyone knows "that" substitute in school… the one who tried to get down on the students' level when nothing else worked to gain their respect. We also had the young substitutes fresh out of college and doing this gig to get by. You would always hope for those as a student and Gwen played that perfectly. She was awkwardly in tune to the teens and yet obviously out of her element when it came to any form of discipline or actually being a teacher. Watching her come to terms with that after watching her get punched in the face by "Cameo" was pretty friggin hilarious!
Any scene with “Principal Figgins” just makes me laugh out loud. That actor cracks me up. The scene where he gets sneezed on is pretty funny. In my half germaphobic mind I really hope that they digitally imposed that sneeze! Gross! I love how Sue immediately took charge and started doing things her way. She got that same girl to sneeze on Mr. Schuester because apparently there was “monkey flu” in the school and she wanted a take-down. First she got rid of Mr. Shue, then she tried to get rid of the football team (only then realizing her Cheerios would have no one to cheer for and she took that one back).
My favorite scene in this episode by FAR is the mini-me Glee Club. In Mr. Shue's sickness induced state he turns around and sees the Glee club as toddlers and they were SO cute! I love when they do flashbacks/smaller people emulating grown-ups in TV or movies. I can't help but smile. Something about that is hilarious. Embedded below is a clip they took from behind the scenes for that episode:
Watching Mr. Schuester interact with other women makes me feel like a student seeing their teacher at the grocery store. "You mean they actually have a life outside of school?" NO! he shouldn't be doing that! Something about Mr. Schue is sexy yet very dorky. Granted I was excited that we got two episodes of shirtless Mr. Schue this season (YAY!) , but watching him make out with Terri wasn't the most pleasant thing to watch. VERY glad he got out of that marriage. I want to see more Emma!
I am enjoying watching Kurt being more himself around Blaine. I'm also glad that they're bringing in the fact that Mercedes feels slighted in the friendships department, because lets be honest - we've all been there. Whether its on one side or the other - when a new relationship blooms, others suffer. I'm excited to see where Glee goes with Mercedes and her new boy. I'm hoping to get more character development from her. Other then the one episode where she fell in love with Kurt and then the other episode where she joined the Cheerios there really hasn't been too much to her.
Until next week... here is a throw back to the Pilot episode that made me fall in love!!
Christmas comes but once a year. But when it comes it brings good cheer .

There are also a number of steps that can be taken to make a house less attractive to potential thieves and intruders, such as planting thorny bushes and using timers on lights.
